Janet Macoska is an American photographer. A lifelong Cleveland, Ohio native, she has been capturing images of rock and roll musicians since 1974. Her work has been prominently featured in many publications including Rolling Stone, People, US Weekly, Vogue, and The New York Times. Macoska’s work is also part of the permanent collection of several art institutions, including the National Portrait Gallery in London, England; the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington D.C., and in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland. Macoska’s photos have been regularly featured in rock-themed television and film productions, books, and in the liner notes of many artists’ albums, including David Bowie, Lou Reed, AC/DC, Kiss, The Clash, Devo, Heart, and The Kinks. Her iconic photo of Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page during a 1977 performance at the Richfield Coliseum is featured on the back cover of Page’s autobiography, Jimmy Page by Jimmy Page. Macoska’s own retrospective photography book, All Access Cleveland: The Rock and Roll Photography of Janet Macoska, co-authored with Cleveland-area writer Peter Chakerian. Her latest book is Bruce Springsteen: Live in the Heartland.

Cheriss May is a visual storyteller and adjunct professor at Howard University, her alma mater, in Washington D.C. She is the president of Women Photojournalists of Washington (WPOW), and co-chair of the photography committee at The National Press Club. Idris Talib Solomon is a photojournalist and portrait photographer based in Brooklyn, New York. In 2016, he was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to photograph Hip Hop culture in Ghana. He is also the host and producer of the Black Shutter podcast. Chris Suspect was born in the Philippines in 1968. He is a street and documentary photographer hailing from the Washington, DC area. He specializes in capturing absurd and profound moments in the quotidian. His street photography work has been recognized internationally and has been exhibited in Miami, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Romania, Georgia, United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. His documentary work on the underground music scene in Washington, D.C., was published as a book, Suspect Device, by Empty Stretch in 2014 and was a featured exhibit at the Kolga Tblisi Photo Festival 2015 in Tblisi, Georgia. Colin Finlay is one of the foremost documentary photographers and filmmakers in the world. For almost twenty-five years, Finlay has chronicled the human condition with compassion, empathy, and dignity. He has covered war and conflict, disappearing traditions, the environment in both its glory and its devastation, genocide, famine, religious pilgrimage, and global cultures. In pursuit of his passion, he has circled the globe twenty-seven times, in search of that one photo that will be a testament to the depth of human will and compassion, of hope and of an informed collective consciousness. In addition to book and photography projects, Finlay is an accomplished musician, with his compositions accompanying his latest photography exhibition, Of Consequence. Finlay has participated in a number of TEDx events nationally and is invited to speak regularly at a variety of prestigious events and institutions, such as the Annenberg, LACMA, ADOBE, Goldman Environmental Awards, and the Ford Foundation. Finlay is passionate about humanitarian efforts and even co-founded the non-profit organization Proof: Media for Social Justice to help address issues faced by populations in post-conflict societies, and to encourage social change through photography. Erika Larsen is a multidisciplinary storyteller who works in photography, writing, and video. She is fascinated by the way people communicate with the natural world. Her monograph ‘Sami-Walking with Reindeer’, a reflection of her time living in the Scandinavian Arctic, was published in 2013. Larsen was a 2017 Fellow with National Geographic Society for an ongoing project exploring how communities that maintain close ties to nature communicate this relationship through ritual. Her work has been included in the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, National Geographic Society, Fotografiska Museum, and the United States Embassy in Oslo. She is primarily a self-taught photographer. Kristen recently won 2nd place in the Cambridge Art Association National Prize Show, curated by Steve Locke and Camilo Alvarez, and is a recipient of this year's Mass Cultural Council's Photography Fellowship grant. Isadora Kosofsky (b. 1993, USA) is a documentary photographer, photojournalist, and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. She began photographing at the age of 14, documenting individuals in hospice care. She takes an immersive approach to visual storytelling, spending months and years embedded in the lives of the people she shadows. For her, the relationships formed with the subjects are tantamount to the image-making. Her area of focus is American social issues, looking at the intersection of personal and political conflicts. She works on a range of subject matters through the lens of one individual or group of people, looking at mental health, incarceration, substance use, disability rights, gender violences, childhood trauma, senior citizen rights, documenting from an interpersonal, humanistic stance. She has contributed to the NY Times, TIME, the New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, Stern, Le Monde, M le Magazine du Monde, GEO Germany, Paris Match, The London Sunday Times, The Guardian, Slate, Internazionale, and many others. She is currently on assignment for National Geographic Magazine. She is the recipient of the 2012 Inge Morath Award from the Magnum Foundation for her multi-series work on the aged. She was nominated for a 2016 Lead Award (German Pulitzer) for her long-term documentary about a senior citizen love triangle. Julia Dean is a photographer, educator, writer, and executive director/founder of the Los Angeles Center of Photography. She began her career as an apprentice to pioneering photographer Berenice Abbott. Later, Julia was a photo editor for the Associated Press in New York. She has traveled to more than 45 countries while freelancing for numerous relief groups and magazines. Her extensive teaching experience includes over 36 years at various colleges, universities and educational institutions including the University of Nebraska, Los Angeles Valley College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Santa Monica College, the Santa Fe Workshops, the Maine Photographic Workshops, Oxford University and the Los Angeles Center of Photography. For the past 18 years, Julia has concentrated on street photography around the world. For the past eight years, street shooting in downtown Los Angeles has been her primary focus. Julia's work was selected for a book produced by Acuity Press and PDN magazine featuring 20 street shooters around the world, and published in two lengthy spreads in Digital Photo Pro magazine and B&W Magazine UK over the last couple of years.
