The Cacophony Sessions

Life got in the way, but do not fret as The Cacophony Sessions Podcast is back and longer than ever! The first of two episodes in May to make up for the lack of an update in April sees Dan as well as the regular line up Alex, Martyn, Tom and Dave selecting songs that we suspect would be found on the walkman of American Psycho's Patrick Bateman from the years 1985-88.
The 1991 book and 2000 film are both renowned for their use of musical references delivered from the perspective of psychotic killer Patrick Bateman who masquerades as an 80s stockbroker by day. We've come up with 25 songs between us that are not mentioned in the novel or used in the movie soundtrack to justify talking about the 80s for two and a half hours.
So if you want to find out who was in the band 'Cork the Bitch's Ass', which singer Dan had a crush on in his pre-school years and which albums Tom's Dad owns, listen to this. If you don't, we mention at least three other things as well. This one is very sweary and very heated. In other words, it won't disappoint.
All music courtesy of Longships, Danny W & The Dope and DJ Funktapuss.
Playlist Available via our Blog.

S2E02 - The Top 20 Songs of 1991

For the thirtieth anniversary, the latest episode of The Cacophony Sessions sees Dan, Tom, Alex, Martyn and Dave nominating what we think are the twenty best songs of 1991. We each nominated thirty songs and scored them out of fifty, and tonight, we discuss the scores. We cover everything from hip-hop to dance to grunge so we hope you'll agree with at least some of them!
Other than that we find the links between Pearl Jam, Ronan Keating and the Star Wars theme, Al gives us his best Sepultura karaoke, Baphomet remains elusive and there are more than a fair share of surprise results along the way.
Head to our blog where you can review the full list of 150 songs we put forward, along with how they scored and even links to the Spotify and Apple Music playlists we've compiled so you can listen along!

S2E04 - The Cacophony Sessions Makes a Sex Mixtape

The latest episode of The Cacophony Sessions sees regulars Dan, Martyn, Alex, Tom and Dave nominating their favourite songs designed for getting one's proverbial freak on. This month we discern your Barry Whites from your Cilla Blacks so join us as we select three songs each to get you through the sexiest of times. This one obviously contains some adult themes, as well as the normal amount of swearing and fighting.
Find out which all-time sex jam was used in Robin Williams' Bicentennial Man, which two songs have been certified as undeniably banging this month and if Martyn has been working a lot and cycling about (spoiler alert: obvs).
The playlist can be found on the blog, or you can contact us on Twitter directly @cacsessionspod whereby we will send it to you publicly with the message 'THE SEX PLAYLIST YOU REQUESTED' loudly attached.
Enjoy, and please continue to support us on social media and let us know what you'd like to hear going forward.
