The Better You Blueprint - 6. Don't Allow The Haters To Prevent You From Playing Big
play

11/16/21 • 27 min

In today’s episode we give you all the tools needed to handle “haters” and all those people who may doubt or question what you choose to do and how you choose to live your life. No matter what phase or level you are at there are always going to be people who disagree with what you are doing, throw shade at you, or even try to talk you out of it. We even share how haters can often be close friends or family. This was a fun episode to dive into because focusing on haters can cause you to waste so much time. Listen in as we arm you with the tools needed to handle any pushback, and use it as fuel to keep chasing your dreams!

Action Step: Ask yourself these 3 questions: 1. Are they really “hating,” or just giving you their opinion? 2. Are the people doubting you, even where you want to be? 3. Are you wasting time focusing on these people and is this preventing you from growing and being successful?

Brett recently completed his first marathon ruck (carrying weight) and did it in a very unique way, and for a very unique reason. Going through tough times can cause us to do some crazy things. For Brett, he decided to turn his focus to completing his very first marathon with less than 7 weeks of training. He also shares how and why he decided to up the difficulty and challenge for himself. If you have ever run an endurance race, thought about running a race, or are going through a tough time of your own, you will love this episode. Brett also shares what it means to raise your “hard ceiling,” as well as the peace and comfort he never expected to find during his “moving meditation.”

Action Step: Do you feel like your “hard ceiling” has gotten lower than it used to be? Perhaps it's time for a challenge to raise your own hard ceiling. Hopefully this episode challenges you to find your own “hard physical challenge” that helps you remind yourself how strong you really are. If you enjoyed this episode, please share it with a friend, family member, or co-worker who you think may benefit from it.

In today’s episode we dive into one of Brett’s favorite mentalities for staying consistent when it may be more challenging to follow your normal routine. Use this mentality when your routine changes, you travel, and especially during the holidays. Listen how Brett and Curtis break down what a No Zero Day means, and how you can use it to win more days, and stay consistent even when some things seem out of your control.

Action Step: Start small and create some simple daily self-care standards for yourself. Define what a “No Zero Day” looks like for yourself. Put that mentality into play the next time you travel, over the holiday or whenever you are not able to follow your full routine. Reminder, for some, the no zero day is a great place to start if you are just beginning to add some self-care into your day.
