Sporting KC & MLS young standout Cameron Duke joins Jamil and Dom in the Back Stick studio this week. We dig deeper into Cam's journey from the academy at SKC to his MLS first team debut, and being a kid from Kansas becoming Sporting KC’s 11th homegrown player. We delve into his experience as a USA Youth International, and his new experience living in Charlotte, playing in MLSNext Pro and the impact it will have on US soccer. Cam shares insights about his MLS debut, scoring his first MLS goal, and the importance of the early mentorship from veteran players at SKC, players such as Johnny Russell, Roger Espinoza, Graham Zusi & more. As always, Cam goes through ‘Extra Time’, where Cam answers light-hearted questions about his career and teammates.

Jamil & Dom welcome Charlotte Independence captain Clay Dimick into the studio this week! We discuss Clay's off-season, and the nightmares of pre season runs. We delve deep into his journey back from a serious double cervical surgery and the incredible challenges Clay and his family had to overcome. All of this led to being awarded the 2024 Comeback Player Of The Year Award, for his incredible comeback, captaining Charlotte Independence and playing every single minute in 2024. Clay shares insights on his leadership style, the support he received during his recovery, and his trophy aspirations for the upcoming 2025 USL League One Season. Union Omaha’s star man Pedro Dolabella joins Jamil Roberts and Dom Okus on this week's edition of the back stick podcast. Kaz is back for part 2 with the Back Stick as he shares his experience of transitioning from Tottenham to the USL with South Georgia Tormenta FC, discussing his early challenges, the excitement of playoff football, and the emotional rollercoaster of his first season in the US. Both Kaz and Jamil reflect on their journeys, the camaraderie built within the team, and the joy of achieving success together.

We sat down and discussed the 2022 USL League One Play off run, which culminated in Kaz and Jam being crowned champions. The pair go through their goals in the final, and just what it meant to both of their careers. The discussion also touches on personal growth, injuries, and the transition to new teams, providing insights into the life of professional athletes.
