8. Autism and work: entrepreneurship and employment are different flavours of poop
The Autistic Mystic Podcast04/23/24 • 33 min
Having to work to live sucks, least of all when how your brain is built doesn't support consistent productivity. In this episode I discuss how difficult I find entrepreneurship and employment, and how much I resent having to betray myself at work just to maintain basic human rights (food, shelter). I get into:
- Entrepreneurship and how it triggers our fear of being perceived
- Capitalism and the illusion of choice
- Workplaces wanting your time and not your productivity
- The unfairness and impossibility of monetizing a passion
- Fundamental incongruities of autism and conventional offices
