In 2006, she started a business, primarily motivated by her love of speaking and training and her decision that she wanted to get compensated for it. Fast-forward to the present, the company she founded has evolved, but she still helps people to speak up and share their stories. Sofiat worked at the College Board as a product lead, where she was in charge of strategic and technical product management, but even then she knew that she wanted to be a business-owner.

Then the opportunity came when Sofiat and two of her friends noticed a gap in the market for an app that can locate nearby mobile food options.

When they explored the idea further, they discovered that like them, their clients are made up of people from many cultural backgrounds. They spoke different languages, prepared various authentic meals in their homes, and this had a similar vibe to food trucks. With this, they found a problem that they knew they could solve and a market they were excited to serve.

Now, Sofiat is the co-founder and the CEO of Goodfynd, a payments platform and marketplace that helps you find, and re-find, your favourite food trucks, and helps them grow their customer base. To date, she's raised over $3 million in venture financing for the company, and it's only getting bigger.

Chelsea made a great shift from having a career in the world of hedge funds and working 80- hour weeks, to having a work-from-home online business. A shift she realised was needed, after experiencing postpartum depression when her first son was born.

Her entrepreneurial journey started when she joined a Facebook group for moms. Not long after she joined, she found she had become their go-to person for any financial questions and concerns. She started a blog to help other moms with similar financial concerns as her friends in the community, which was more of a hobby at first.

But seeing just how much she could help moms to get financially confident and thrive, Chelsea turned her blogging hobby and desire to help into a thriving business. Today, she helps other moms create healthy money habits and achieve their biggest financial goals through her content and programmes.
