Planted Aquariums For Beginners

In this episode I’d like to talk a bit about planted aquariums, what they are and what you REALLY need to get started.
A planted aquarium is well...an aquarium which uses live plants. This style of aquarium is becoming ever more popular within the hobby and now newcomers are often ditching the fake plastic plants and treasure chest bubble makers of the past and replacing them to create a more natural feel.

In this episode I we’re talking tannins. Yes the part of the hobby which kind of gets put to the side due to the often referred to as “dirty” look. Which personally I LOVE! So I’m no expert in the world of botanicals but I have tried a couple of aquariums with a natural style and I have to say I think they look amazing, I love the tinted colour of the water from all the tannins released from either the driftwood or leaves.
