Juliet Ivy [1/2]: Handling virality, songwriting process, and her musical origin story
Thank You For Everything01/03/24 • 38 min
For our long awaited second guest on the show, we have the internet's favorite musical nihilist, Juliet Ivy.
Having recently released her debut EP Playpen, Juliet has carved a bubbly introspective lane for herself in pop music. From the nihilist indie bedroom rock/pop anthem "we’re all eating each other," to the tiny, liquid-dnb beats of lug (a BOP), playpen manages to capture an absurdly wide range of topics, textures and themes in an efficient, meticulously constructed pop universe.
As a long time fan of her and her work, it was with utmost pleasure we dove into the inner workings of her process, her come up, and how she's handling her recent success. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did.
Thank you for everything,
Bryce
