Interview w/ GusGus about Iceland and Collaborations

Over the past 26 years the electronic music band GusGus has found their journey through different electronic music genres, always coined by their typical synths and layered soundscapes. For their new album "Mobile Home" core members Biggi Veira and Daníel Ágúst collaborated with founding member Kinski as well as the Icelandic singer Margrét Rán. So this album is a symphony of electronic and pop music and will be out in spring. We're talking about their home Iceland, the remix collaboration with Maceo Plex and the single releases "Higher" & "Stay The Ride".

In this interview we are talking about:

  • 26 years of GusGus. A ride through versatile styles with different band members
  • Their remix-collaboration with Maceo Plex
  • How they would describe this journey of finding their unique sound
  • Past artist collaborations: Which artist they personally had the feeling of a perfect fit
  • Future artist collaborations: Which artists they still have on their list
  • The storytelling of their album "Mobile Home" as well as the singles "Higher" and "Stay the Ride"
  • How it feels not being able to tour and to not promote the album with live shows
