Who is Dr. Lambstein?
Teach Reach
10/24/22 • 67 min
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that this podcast is produced by Dr.Lambstein productions. Our beloved Ian is the magician behind all the episodes. This episode is about him.
After some soul searching, and embracing that our focus is stories, we could not help but open the doors to our listeners so they know about the other half of Teach Reach.
In a conversation that flows like two dudes sitting at a bar, we went from sports banter, immigration, the importance and value of community building, teaching, and political takes.
I am honored to call such a brilliant soul a friend, and to build this project with him.
Enjoy the ride!

It’s been a long time coming. Indeed, I’ve been carrying this story all my conscious life: Holding on to it, dropping little hints of it in my writings every now and then.
Well, there is not much to say about it anymore. It’s all in there...
Have you ever thought about the truest sentence you know?

Well, the name in the title already gave it away! Yes, Olivier and I are related: We are brothers.
Olivier is an experienced multidisciplinary artist based in Montreal, Quebec. He graduated from Ecole Nationale de la Chanson de Granby in 2017, and he is completing his professional artistic training in dance with NYATA NYATA dance company in July 2021.
Olivier has recently launched a creative platform called Asògwe (meaning the one who holds sacred knowledge; high priest). Through afro-centric workshops at Asògwe, he wishes to create a space for those who see Art as a relationship with the “sacred”, a portal to the divine.
On this episode, Olivier shared with us how he is going through life with art and music via a life principle, learned at NYATA NYATA, called Loketo.
It was a true haitian conversation - full of joy, laughter, a couple of trips down memory lane interspersed with profound wisdom and tidbits on how to walk through life.
It was an absolute delight to kick off this podcast with Olivier, my brother and first teacher!
You can connect with Olivier via his facebook page, his official website, listen to his music here, and get more info about the workshops at his creative platform, Asògwe, here.

Faisal Khattak is a Holistic Sherpa. For ten years, his studies of quantum physics, science, ancient wisdom of spirituality, and indigenous teachings of sacred plant medicines have brought him to develop the Arbol Method and establish the Ruhani Wellness Centre in Costa Rica. This enabled him to heal early childhood abuse and to become who he was born to be.
Faisal guides people with the help of modern science, ancient wisdom of spirituality, and plant medicine to heal themselves from their own trauma. The Arbol Method is a unique modality that Faisal uses to assist finding your full potential, and get your Mojo back.
Throughout the episode, we touched on the role of the sherpa - the guide, the intersection of modern psychology and shamanism, fatherhood, and how to address our current lack of connection.
It was an absolute honor to discuss with such a calming voice and inspiring soul.
You can find Faisal and details about the Ruhani Centre and the Arbol Method at www.ruhaniwellnesscentre.com and www.thearbolmethod.com as well as their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RuhaniWellnessCentre/

Kym Dominique Ferguson is a poet by birth, a theater performer and filmmaker by training, and a producer by nurture. For over a decade he has serenaded Montréal and international audiences with his blending of spoken word poetry and theater.
He successfully produced and performed his first one-man show to a sold-out audience back in August of 2015: The Born Jamhaitianadian. Kym is also a radio show host on Soul Perspectives since 2012, a show which talks about the issues affecting the Black community in Montreal, across Canada and internationally. He is currently working on the development for his first theater play: The #DearBlackMan Project, officially commissioned by Black Theater Workshop.
This was a true Caribbean reunion, in content and length. We contemplated Kym’s passions for comic books, his relationship with his father - his superhero; his Haitian and Jamaican roots, his art, and the many stories that brought him where he is now.
Throughout the conversation, Kym invited us to listen and follow our voice.
It was an honor to discuss with such a vibrant and powerful soul.
During the show, Kym mentioned some books by Dr. Nnedi Okorafor. You can find Dr. Nnedi Okorafor on IG to find all the books referenced during the episode @nndediokorafor
