#PresentOverPerfect is just one of the many nuggets we took away from our conversation with Eliana Murillo, the founder of #Latinaswhobrunch, a community of badass Latinas. Many of us have grown up afraid to be truly seen or can be paralyzed from even starting to do the work we love because of fear and insecurities. On our latest episode in #thetimeofcorona, we sit down with Eliana to discuss #mindset and #self-development tools and approaches she uses to overcome insecurities, fear, and shame in order to show up most authentically and step into the work she’s called to do for others. In addition to Latinas who brunch, Eliana is the co-founder of her family's organic Tequila Alquimia company, an award-winning USDA certified 100% organic and eco-friendly product that contributes 15% of every harvest to support nonprofit causes. While working at Google, Eliana founded the multicultural marketing team, She graduated from Harvard College and was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 List in 2017. She's originally from Oxnard, California, and has a big, beautiful Mexican family throughout Ventura County. She currently resides in LA, where she makes art, cooks and does yogatón in between meetings in quarantine.
You can catch Eliana on her personal instagram @inmyelement or leading amazing workshops and conversations on @latinaswhobrunch. We are also excited to announce our virtual storytelling workshop “Your story is your Superpower” coming up on April 30th at 6pm over zoom. The workshop is FREE but you must RSVP to join: bit.ly/storytellingpower We have partnered with the wonderful women of Teatro Luna, an all female WOC theater ensemble, to offer you this amazing free opportunity because we believe in the power of storytelling to help you heal, grow, and take you to the next level - whatever that is. Take ownership of your experiences, tackle that impostor syndrome, and launch your journey as a powerful communicator. Tamarindo - On Friendship & Friendship Breakups
play

07/07/21 • 38 min

We explore how friendships are important for our overall well-being by discussing how our relationships with friends have evolved since the pandemic. We also talk about how to approach friendship breakups.

We are joined by guest co-host José Richard Aviles, a multimedia artist, Urban Planner, and Social Worker based out of Los Angeles. As a former organizer, and a current artist, Aviles is interested in the intersections between space and justice, laughter and resistance, and the magic of the stage. Currently, Aviles is promoting their first published collection of poems, Semilla and developing a new poetry EP, "La Carta Que Nunca Envie" , an homage to Juan Gabriel and the countless lovers that are hidden in the lyrics. "Lo que se ve no se pregunta" - Juan Gabriel.

We reference this LA times article: ‘In the Heights’ is the rare Latino blockbuster. Three Times writers on what that means https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/story/2021-06-11/latino-gap-in-the-heights-latinos-lin-manuel-miranda
