✨Dr. Cindy Blackstock✨
🪶In this conversation with Dr. Cindy Blackstock, we talk about childhood dreams, envisioning the powerful future of Indigenous children and their legacies, Spirit Bear, and stories of the places that are close to Cindy's heart.
🪶Cindy is a member of the Gitxsan First Nation, the Executive Director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society and a professor at McGill University’s School of Social Work.
🪶 Cindy is a recipient of the SSHRC Gold Medal, she was honoured to work with First Nations colleagues on a successful human rights challenge to Canada’s inequitable provision of child and family services and failure to implement Jordan’s Principle. This hard-fought litigation has resulted in hundreds of thousands of services being provided to First Nations children, youth, and families.
🪶We are so delighted to bring this impactful and inspirational, heartwarming conversation to our dear listeners!
🧡We dedicate this episode to all Indigenous children, youth, and residential school survivors - those with us today, and those who have moved into the spirit world.
⭐️ Special shout out to my dad, my hero, Gordon Alex Fox!

National Indigenous People's Day: Dr. Tyler White (Holy Eagle Shield)
🪶In honour of National Indigenous People’s Month, we wanted to feature a special conversation that focuses on some big things happening in the Blackfoot territories that are connected to Indigenous Health and Wellness! Recorded live at the Annual Siksika Nation Health Fair on the Siksika Nation, we share this inspiring conversation with Chief Executive Officer for Siksika Health Services for 22+ years, Dr. Tyler White (Naa Taoyi Piita Wo Taan – “Holy Eagle Shield”).
🪶Dr. White is a member of the Siksika First Nation who has worked extensively with all levels of government, frontline workers, and industry partners to enhance the coordination of health care and service delivery in Treaty 7 and beyond.
🪶Tyler is the President of the First Nations Health Consortium of Alberta, a member of the Alberta Human Trafficking Task Force committee, Co-Chair for the Alberta First Nations COVID-19 Vaccine Task Team, and was a significant, contributing member of the Alberta government’s Valuing Mental Health review committee, and Joint Action Health Plan for the Alberta Region.
