Talking with the dogs! - Sheri Salata: This is Just Completely Incredible!
play

08/15/19 • 49 min

Talking With The Dogs Podcast showcases an amazing interview with Sheri Salata, the cofounder of the inspirational lifestyle brand, The Pillar Life and cohost of the podcast, “The Sheri + Nancy Show."

You may know Sheri from some of her previous ventures such as her 20-year career with Oprah Winfrey serving as the Co-President of Harpo Studios and OWN, the Oprah Winfrey Network. Sheri has been named one of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business, The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Power 100 and the 2017 Feminist Press Power Award winners. Sheri’s new memoir The Beautiful No and Other Tales of Trial, Transcendence and Transformation has been named an Amazon best seller for new releases and an Apple audio book “must listen”.

With all of these accolades and this busy career, Sheri still found time to care for two amazing dogs and considers herself a dog mom. Sheri even shares her love for her dogs in Chapter 9 of her book, The Beautiful No. During this podcast interview, Liz shares the most recent insights from both of Sheri’s dogs, Bella and Kissy. Truly amazing to listen and compare the similarities with the book, a chapter Liz had not read prior to talking with Sheri’s dogs.

This episode truly explores that just like children, a dog mom has to consider that multiple dogs means multiple personalities and traits. Sheri’s dogs both have their own preferences and ways of affection that they prefer from their owner. Enjoy insights into the world of Sheri and her dogs!

For more information on Sheri’s work, check out thebeautifulno.com and download Sheri’s free 64 page workbook, The Pillar Life. And, to learn more about Kissy’s journey and tips for life from a dog, be sure to read the book, The Beautiful No, especially Chapter 9. Sheri can also be found on social media @sherisalata.

Talking with the dogs! - Scrappy the Service Dog

Scrappy the Service Dog

Talking with the dogs!

play

03/16/21 • 40 min

Animal Communicator Liz Murdoch chats with a German Shepherd about what he wants people to know about service work. Liz also chats with handler Rachel Little who always thought it would be fun to train a service dog. When her dogs Luna & Remus had a liter, Scrappy stood out and she decided to keep him and explore service dog training with Michael’s Angel Paws owned by Stephanie Gerken.

Scrappy has been training for mobility, PTSD, and navigating public access and exposure. He’s also worked on training for retrieval, pushing handicap door buttons, and laying on laps for calming.

Transition with a veteran is a slow process. Little by little Scrappy is spending more time with his veteran as the veteran learns how to be a handler and Scrappy will continue training for some time after he is permanently with his veteran.

Rachel also shares her insights developing a better service dog leash, launching DogFace Pet Gear, currently sold on Amazon, and developing new products based on what service dog owners truly need. Listen as she and Liz discuss this falling into place because Rachel paid attention to the behavior of a young puppy who showed signs of training responsiveness and eagerness to connect.
