With the women's race happening before we record our next episode we thought the time was right to preview the biggest race of the year.

We are less than a week away from the 2022 Ironman World Championships in Kona and the first time in the history of the race that the men and women will compete on different days.

We go through who to watch, how we think the races will unfold and give our picks (even if some of us still aren't happy with our picks) as well.

We also preview Super League Triathlon in Toulouse, the terrible news that Kat Matthews was hit by a car and some confirmed races for the World Triathlon Championship Series in 2023.

Talking Triathlon - #215 - Can Anyone Beat Blummenfelt & Ryf?
play

09/09/22 • 70 min

With Kona less than a month away people are starting to turn their attention to who they think is going to win and Mark Allen has gone out on a limb and predicted wins for Daniela Ryf and Kristian Blummenfelt.

We joke, but is there anyone capable of beating them on the big island? Ryf has a proven record there and Kristian has taken the 'rules' of triathlon and torn them to pieces. We also unpack all of the action from Super League London, discuss a bizarre DNF in Mexico and once again 'discuss' what the PTO is up to at the moment.

Talking Triathlon - #33 - So Many Start Lists!
play

03/22/24 • 63 min

This week we go through the start lists of T100 Singapore, Oceanside 70.3 and Challenge Roth and discuss the names that pop up a lot and the athletes that are missing.

Is this the first real time we are seeing the packed 2024 season causing scheduling issues for the pros? Why are T100 athletes still not racing T100 events? We also look at the changes to start lists for WTCS events and discuss if the T100 should have larger fields (they shouldn't)

We're back with plenty to talk about this week.

We discuss the news that Andrew Messick has stepped down as the head of IronMan. We look at the pros and cons from his tenure and then discuss what we would like to see IronMan do after he is replaced.

We discuss the news that the Collins Cup isn't happening, start lists for The PTO US Tour (typically they announced wild cards almost immediately after we recorded) and preview WTCS Hamburg this weekend.

We then turn our attention to Challenge Roth from a few weeks back where we are joined by Chrissie Wellington (via Get out in It) to hear what it meant to see her world record beaten by Daniela Ryf and why she is one of, if not, the greatest female triathlete of all time.
