Scott and Jenn visited the Evans City Cemetery. The very place where The Night of the Living Dead was filmed in 1967.
This film was so iconic and groundbreaking for its time, that it DEFINED the Zombie Movie Genre...forever being known as the father of the zombie film. However, what is the HISTORY of those iconic graves? Who was actually buried there?
We talk about why we filmed this YouTube video there and answer those very questions in our video.

🎙
Best known as the lead singer of the 80s hair band, Poison, Bret Michaels had a big impact on Jenn's life. We took an opportunity to do something a little different and film a Walk With History video from his hometown of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania!
Walking through small-town Pennsylvania was that much more fun as we explored where he grew up, went to high school, played, and eventually put his father to rest.

Talk With History was born from a desire to go deeper into the history that continues to impact our lives today.
Scott (the host) and Jenn (the historian) talk about what they have discovered through making a history-based YouTube channel as well as why Jenn thinks more people need to how historians think and research.
In this first episode, they briefly touch on Walk With History’s most popular YouTube video to date, and what that experience has been like.

Jimmy Stewart - Visiting his hometown and the Jimmy Stewart Museum
Talk With History
10/04/21 • 19 min
🎙
Have you ever watched "It's a Wonderful Life" at Christmas time? If you have then you will probably love this episode of Talk With History.
Jenn and Scott talk about visiting Indiana, Pennsylvania...not only the Christmas Tree capital of the world...but also Jimmy Stewart's hometown! Jimmy grew up here and visited his childhood home all throughout his life, including through his Hollywood career years.
Of course, we had to visit the Jimmy Stewart Museum and it was such an amazing view into the man that brought so much entertainment to the world through his movie career (although we are bummed we didn't get to see it at Christmas time).
Join us on this journey through his hometown and share this with other Jimmy Stewart and history fans!

This week we talk about the "First Lady of Comedy", Lucille Ball. Did you know she was the first leading woman to be pregnant on an American TV show? Or did you know that the I Love Lucy show was the FIRST TV show to use film?
Many people only know her for the I Love Lucy show, but she was SO MUCH MORE. She was an innovator of her time in what she did as a woman on television, in the film industry, and for women at large. She and Desi Arnaz accomplished many "firsts" in the film industry and her influence continues to be felt today with many modern comedians crediting her as inspiration.

The most famous person you have never heard of - Dan Rice
Talk With History
10/18/21 • 24 min
🎙
Dan Rice was a circus clown...or rather a circus leader...in the mid-1800s. It is because of him that we have terms like "Jump on the bandwagon". He essentially made fun of politicians...before that was cool!
He also is the reason that we have the iconic "Uncle Sam" Army recruiting posters...those drawings were modeled after what he used to wear during his circus act. Learning about Dan Rice while living not far from where he made his home...was so much more than we expected!

How should controversial historical figures be taught?
Talk With History
09/27/21 • 24 min
🎙
Jenn talks about her very first time filming a historical location and why she decided to choose someone as controversial as Nathan Bedford Forrest.
A statue dedicated to him was taken down in December of 2017, from the center of Memphis, Tennessee. Was it taken down the right way? What SHOULD be the way those kinds of statues are removed...should they be removed? How difficult is it for historians to see figures with terrible acts in their past in an objective light?

Bob Hope - Married to two women at the same time?
Talk With History
09/27/21 • 21 min
🎙
Jenn discovered that Bob Hope was technically married to two women at the same time...and supposedly both marriages occurred in Erie, Pennsylvania. Since we were living in Erie at the time, Jenn decided to put her historian hat on and explore the locations where Bob Hope probably walked in February of 1933 AND 1934.
Furthermore...Scott has family ties to Bob Hope through his great-grandfather who was a Hollywood prop master in the 50s, 60s, and 70s!!
