From Nursing to Nonfiction Author

Life is good, but it’s not without its share of struggles. Even in a Christian marriage, there will be difficulties and challenges, however, with Christ we learn how He can get the glory when we face and overcome them. In this episode, Jen Hughes shares her career journey and how she has been balancing her time as a Christian author with growing her family, the journey of being a firefighter’s wife, and advancing in her demanding career as a practicing nurse. Jen has been a pediatric nurse for the last 35-plus years and is married to a retired fire veteran chief. Their life raising their two daughters was focused on their career. Her journey as a firefighter’s wife inspired her book, Weathering The Firestorm, which draws from their life together as two first responders trying to raise their daughters in a christian home.
