"The delights of self-discovery are always available." --Gail Sheehy
Do you have a propensity for rest while you watch everyone race around you?
Do you have more ideas then you know what to with them?
Do you every feel out of alignment...with everything and everyone?
In my ongoing exploration into my own self discovery, I stumbled upon Human Design and was so floored with the information that I learned, that I had to invite Heather Vickery onto the podcast to talk all things Human Design. And believe me, there is a lot!
Human Design is a psychological concept and system of self-discovery that combines ancient and modern sciences to create a unique energetic blueprint for each person. The blueprint, or "design", is decoded using a person's birth data and can be represented by a complex diagram called a Human Design chart.
Human design combines astrology, I Ching, and the Chakras...so if you like all things woo and are open to learning more about YOU, then this is the episode for you!
Heather's Bio:
Heather Vickery is an achiever of unrealistic dreams. The transformational success coach and celebrated public speaker leverages over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience to help her clients master the “Trifecta of Self” knowing, liking and trusting themselves so they can elevate, expand, and grow. Through this process, clients learn to authentically like and trust themselves, leading to inspired, authentic action in both personal and professional realms. As an accomplished author, Broadway producer, and podcast host, Heather's work resonates globally, promoting everyday bravery and self-empowerment. She’s the co-host of Was it Chance? The podcast about taking intentional risk for creative success. And best-selling author of F*CK FEARLESS: Making The Brave Leap.
Join us as we explore:
- The different energy types within Human Design and their attributes: Manifesters, Generators, Manifesting Generators, Projectors and Reflectors.

Step Two: Follow me on Instagram, Facebook and/or Linked In.
One of the simplest ways to connect to ourselves and to others is through play. Play allows us to have a heart, hand and mind connection. It brings out the joy. It gives us a platform for conversation. It brings us together. Play can be adventure, games, baking, creating, getting messy, and more. There is no right way to do it. It's just about perfect. That's what I talk about in this week's episode. Using play to connect!
Here is the link to the Yale course on happiness I talk about.
Are you living your life by design? One that has all the pieces in place...allowing you to work within your purpose, have the time and energy YOU need to focus on yourself?

81: LESS IS MORE: The Answer To Your Ideal Holiday
Surviving to Thriving: A Podcast for Women
11/05/23 • 23 min
Doing less is often harder than doing more.
Do you see the holidays fast approaching and start to hyperventilate? Are you exhausted just thinking about all the "extra" that is the holiday season? We have conditioned ourselves to believing that if we are not exhausted, overdrawn, overextended, and going out of our minds to make everything PERFECT, then we are failing as a mom.
STOP! The answer to having a memorable holiday season of more hugs, more smiles, more memories, and more gratitude, is to do less. Yes...less.
If you can't even imagine a restful holiday, then this is the episode for you.
Today on the Surviving to Thriving Podcast, I share a simple exercise to reevaluate your family holiday traditions and "right size" them to what matters most to you and those you love:
- We will start by looking at holidays of the past and where they went awry
- We will inventory all that goes into your holidays
- We will find you why
- And then we will conceive of a new way of doing each aspect that requires less time, but results in more of what matters!
Gone are the days of more is more is more for the holidays. What our families want is more of US. More of our time, attention and presence, not presents. So listen in to see how you can deliver!

I don't know about you, but I can't open Instagram, Facebook, or my newsfeed without seeing the word SOMATIC. There is somatic yoga, somatic workouts, somatic therapy, etc. So when I met Sara Vatore, a somatic and peak performance coach, last fall I knew I needed to have her on the podcast.
As it turns out, SOMA means the body and these "new to me" modalities are all about getting in tune with our bodies so that we can heal--emotionally, spiritually and physically. Surviving to Thriving: A Podcast for Women
01/09/24 • 11 min
"Words and images do not describe our reality, they define it."
Do you find yourself feeling like nothing is going right? Life intervenes at every turn? We've been conditioned for years to be in busy mode. Making sure everyone is cared for. Every fire is put out. Every whim is attended to. We have been in effect of everyone and everything while we use busy as a badge of honor.
I've recently begun a new certification program that is all based on Neuro Linguistic Programming which is like the lost user manual for our brains. And one of the first techniques I have learned is a powerful empowerment formula C > E, or Cause is greater than Effect and I want to lay it all out for you as it's a game changer to get us to finally break busy.
In today's Surviving to Thriving Podcast, we talk about:
- How to shift our mindset to see all that is happening in our lives as a result of the many decisions we've made in our life--or being at cause.
- The benefits of staying in cause and no longer falling prey to the effect of others.
- The difference between being at cause and being to blame for everything in our lives.
If you are you ready, willing, and able to play at 100% to create your desired result and to focus on what you want, then this is the episode for you!
