The Enterprise D and crew are back for all of season two, starting with entity impregnation and ending with brain infestation. Picard, Riker, Troi, Data, Geordi, Worf, Guinan, Wesley Crusher and new Doctor, Kate Pulaski are boldly exploring strange new worlds, which mostly exist on the Holodeck, they’re meeting new life, like the shape shifting Salia in the Dauphine, or Mick Fleetwood as a giant fish in Manhunt. They’re encountering new civilizations alright — have you seen where the Borg keep their babies? In a drawer! The season two crew is boldly going where no one has gone before — did you see the one where Riker fights his dad in the ultimate martial art — Ambo Jitsu? All this and Rogues, Imps, Piscapos, sleepy doppelgängers, Comic Cons, Klingon love-making, Ensign Gomez, Terry Hatcher, and sandwiches!

While on their merry way to some place called Endicor, the Enterprise encounters a Starfleet shuttlecraft floating dead in space. They tractor beam it onboard only to discover it’s one of their own shuttles, the El Baz! But wait, the El Baz never left! There’s two of them! How weird can this get? Well, strap in because inside the second shuttle is a whole other Jean-Luc Picard! How is that possible? The second JLP isn’t talking because he’s comatose and unresponsive to treatment. After some investigation, the crew discovers this Jean-Luc is from the future, six hours in the future to be exact, and garbled log entries show that he fled his Enterprise just before it was destroyed by yet another entity. Our Enterprise crew is on edge as they seem to be hurtling towards their doom! What led the other Jean-Luc to flee his Enterprise? What decisions did the doomed crew make that done doomed them, and how can our Enterprise escape?!?

Once again, the Enterprise is pulled off course by a distress call. While they’re on the way to Star Station India, they get an urgent call from the USS Lantree announcing the crew of that ship is dying. They blow off India and find the Lantree adrift and the crew dead from old age even though they were all in the primes of their lives. They quarantine the ship and head to it’s last stop, the ironically named Darwin Genetic Research Station where they find the inhabitants prematurely aging. The Darwinians are worried about a group of genetically engineered “children” who have been isolated from everyone else and appear safe. Pulaski gets it into her head that she wants to examine one of these kids and it’s decided they can do it safely if they wrap the kid in plastic. She wants to get her hands directly on the kid, so she convinces Picard to let her and Data put the kid in a shuttle. As soon as the kid is unwrapped, Pulaski begins to age rapidly. Wouldn’t you know it, it’s the kids! They have some sort of aggressive immune system that attacks everything around them. The Enterprise crew finally figure out they can de-age Pulaski and everyone else by running them through the transporter, and when they’re done, they blow up the Lantree. Damn . .

Last time on ST:TNGeez, Not Another Star Trek Podcast, Worf had resigned from Starfleet to fight alongside Gowron in the Klingon civil war. Honestly, if you want to know all the ins and outs of this bloody conflict, you need to listen to the last episode because it’s . . . It’s a lot. Suffice to say that it’s newly ascended chancellor Gowron vs. the Duras family who are being backed by those sneaky old Romulans. Those little stinkers are smuggling supplies to the Duras-es (or Duras family), and Picard just ain’t having it. Being the flagship and all, the Enterprise leads a coalition of 20 starships to form a blockade along the Klingon/Romulan border. Try sneaking your cloaked ships past that, Romulans! Of course they do, but little do they know that one of those 20 ships is under the command of everyone’s favorite robot, Data! If you ever wanted to see how your favorite robot would drive one of these Galaxy-Classes - well... Robot drives! All this and we haven’t even mentioned that Romlan Tasha Yar lookalike, Commander Sela! Will Worf finally be treated with respect now that he’s among his own -- the Klingons? Will Picard find out the secret behind Commander Sela’s origins? Will Troi and Bev get any more than ten lines each in this episode?
