Strange Bedfellows

Put a dollar in your Pete jars, folks, because the boys are talking about the Pete Lerangis Super Special so nice ... they read it twice! That’s right, your good buddies Weed Lord and Half Pipe are back for a second hit from the gravity bong that is Super Special #12, "Here Come the Bridesmaids!” and this time they’re not leaving until Dawn’s dad really makes it official by kissing Carol for a second time. And hold onto your wedding veils because there’s a brand-new, extremely cool catchphrase in this one, as well as a surprising amount of Rusted Root.

“Teenage Freakout,” by Mules

“Air on G String,” by Adigold

“Dark Cybernetic World,” by AllenGrey

“Jingle Bells (Dark Piano Version),” by Myuu

“Tanzen,” by KieLoBoy

“Sadness,” by AudioRose

“Battle Area,” by Fifty Vinc

Thanks as always to original Baby Boy Scott Lamb for the intro music, and to Superbrat for the outro music.

BSCSC 011 - The Baby-Sitters Remember

Everyone remembers the 24 to 72 hours immediately preceding the first time they ever met Kristin Amanda Thomas. For most of the girls in the Baby-Sitters Club, the moment Kristy entered their lives, everything changed, because when you meet Kristy Thomas, all your problems seem to disappear. The same holds true for Jack and Tanner. Their lives have never been the same since first being introduced to Kristy and their fortunes, positive attitudes, and gainful employment records have never wavered since.

Music Credits:

High Brow/Low Brow 001

It’s pilot three of three! Now that we’re teetering on the edge of uncertainty, with only a couple Super Special books left before we need to find something new to podcast about, we’ve got one last podcast concept for you to check out.

This week, Tanner and Bolphunga the Unrelenting are trying something a little different. We’re calling it High Brow/Low Brow and it’s an exercise in drawing suppositional insights from a text or body of work in an effort to elevate that work to a level of discourse fitting the standards of academia. Which is to say that we talk about dumb stuff like comic books in a smart way. Oh, and vice versa.

This week, we’ve prepared two selections:

We hope you enjoy! We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled nonsense next week.

Music Credits:

The theme song for High Brow/Low Brow is “Grizzly Bear Sharktopus” by Holy Coast (with some lyrical accompaniment from Tanner Greenring).
