Elevating Your Drinks at Home

Matt's attempt to entertain his house guests went better than expected. However, he still has a lot left to learn. In this episode of the "Elevating Your Home Bar" series, Anthony and Troy take Matt to school and help him upgrade his cocktail game. They walk him through their cocktails, an elevated Whiskey Sour and The Bitter Handshake.

*Elevated Whiskey Sour*
2 oz bourbon
3/4 oz lemon
3/4 oz simple syrup
1 egg white
Angostura bitters
Add all ingredients less the bitters to a cocktail shaker. Dry shake for 30 seconds. Fill shaker with ice, and shake again for 8-10 seconds. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Add four drops of bitters in a dotted line over the top of the drink, and slide a toothpick across to form the shape of an elegant arrow.

*Bitter Handshake*
1 ounce Fernet-Branca
1 ounce Blood Orange Reduction
1 ounce Rye Whiskey Syrup
Garnish: thick spiral of orange zest
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass.
Add ice and stir until chilled.
Strain into a rocks glass over an ice sphere.
Garnish with the orange zest atop the ice sphere.
