For the Sake of His Name

I don’t know about you but I’m tempted to look at the good things in my life and think I have earned them or deserve them. Then we often question God when we see hardship in life. What if we are seeing it all wrong? What if the goodness we see and seek is from God for the sake of His Name? What if it’s not because our actions or our character but because of His?

Journaling Questions:

Have you considered the ways God has led and blessed you for His name sake?
What blessings do you see in your life that are more than you deserve?
Do you need to explore what you have thought about what you deserve and what the Bible says you deserve? (See Romans 6:23)
If you have these blessings because of God’s merit and not because of your own what does that teach you about God?
Do you find yourself working for the sake of your own name?
What would it look like to act for the sake of God’s name?
