Howdy gang!!! Our 26th episode is full of binge-worthy recommendations so snuggle up with a cup of hot cocoa and a blanket (if you’re in a region with colder weather, otherwise consider icream and shorts) and get ready for some treats!!

Both of today’s shows are creative and inventive! Starting with Prime original: FOREVER. Fred Amrisen (SNL, Portlandia) and Maya Rudolph (SNL, Bridesmaids) star in this very quirky, light and incredible different, original and engrossing comedy.

And then I’m excited to tell you about the Hulu original: THE FIRST. Starting Sean Penn about a a team of astronauts preparing for a two year mission to Marsin which they risk their lives and leave behind their loved ones, some of whom’s ability to navigate life on their own is questionable. This show does a fantastic job of character development and is inventive with some of its story telling elements.

Then I have a fabulous Tasty-Treat-Sensation: Top Round Roast Beef, a restaurant which arguably has the best ice cream (At least in KY and California) Enjoy!

Tangents:
Ladies In Lavender: (PRIME) Starring Dame Judy Dench and Dame Maggie Smith in a period piece about two sister who rescue a young violinist who is washed ashore by their seaside cottage. Love this and so glad it’s finally on a streaming service!

Hey Gang!!! Welcome to the 20th episode of Sprinklez! The podcast dedicated to bringing you recommendations of the best shows, movies and podcasts on available on streaming services.

Today we start off is the Netflix original series, Babylon Berlin, with intensely beautiful sets, terrific acting and time appropriate costumes. This German television series is such a high calibre you think you're watching a long running movie (it is 16 episodes long, 45 min a piece). The story if set in between the two world wars in Berlin Germany where excess and poverty collide in a crescendo of intertwining plots. Recommended for those who love period pieces, dramas, thrillers but not for those triggers by violence, nudity or cruelty.

Secondly, I recommend the amazingly true story documented in this original podcast entitled S-Town by the producers of This American Life and Serial. It plays out like a Tennessee Williams play, or a Flannery O'Connor short story, but this one is all true. The podcast become about the eccentrically fascinating John B. McLemore and the small souther town he reluctantly called home, in addition to the cast of real life characters who make up his real and adoptive family.

Lastly, this week's Tasty Treat Sensation is Caffé Monster Energy Coffee, which is a delicious highly caffeinated beverage for those adults without medical concerns, pregnancy or the like.

Hey Sprinklerz! I hope you are ready for a tangent filled ride of great recommendations!!! My friend Cicely sits in the co-host chair as we talk about one of our all time favorites shows; BLEAK HOUSE (Amazon Prime/Hulu) Which is a stunning 2005, eight part miniseries rendition of the Charles Dickens's novel of the same name. It is chock full of an amazing cast of characters played by a cadre of incredible actors/actresses (Including: Gillian Anderson, Carey Mulligan, Anna Maxwell, Charles Dance, Burn Gorman, Pauline Collins, Nathaniel Parker and on and on and on!) Intricate storylines with unpredictable plot twists will leave you breathless.

Then we try to convince you to watch the Netflix original, THE O.A. It is such a creative and original show but due to unique and at times complicated characters you may have a hard time getting into it but once you do you will love it! It's wonderfully mysterious and it will have you guessing the whole way through. Definitely unlike any other show anywhere.

And finally Cicely shares her tasty-treat-sensation which is Hershey's Cookie Layer Crunch Mint. It was so good she eat it on her way over and just brought the wrapper to remind her of the name, hahahahaha (Sad but true.)

In today's episode we could not help ourselves and end up talking about another three shows:

Inspector Lynley Mysteries (TV Series, 2001-2008): Based on the books by Elizabeth George,. This Murder Mystery series staring Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small is sadly not currently on any streaming service.

Pacific Rim. (2013 Movie) Monsters vs Robots fun! This lighthearted monster flick is not to be missed by those looking for a high-octane monster smashing adventure! Unfortunately it is not on any streaming service, but plays often on cable TV.

Ladies in Lavender (2005, Movie) Staring Judi Dench and Maggie Smith set in the 1930s, Dench and Smith play sisters who rescue a Polish Violinist who washes ashore and ends up changing their mundane lives. Enchanting and endearing. Not in streaming source but can be rented or bought on Amazon.

Then I recommend the hilarious new Irish comedy, Derry Girls which is also on Netflix. Then I can't help but to recommend three incredibly delicious donuts available at White Castle Restaurants! You are going to love all three (Well, you will in all probability love all three)! Enjoy!!

Howdy Gang! And welcome to 2019!! I have some fabulous recommendations for you!! Love mysteries? Love the X-files? Love Australian accents? Then you are going to love The Kettering Incident (Prime Video)!

Then I talk about the Netflix remake of the childhood classic, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power! Which is a beautifully rendered cartoon about girl power, inclusiveness and how teamwork can help overcome close minded bad guys! It rocks!!!

In our new segment: "They Are Still With Us." I inform you that a famous actor and actress who for some reason or another I thought had passed away are in fact very much alive! Hurrah and huzzah!!

Lastly,I rave about McDonald's holiday pies which will not be available until the holiday season of 2019, but heck we all need something to look forward to, to get us through the year! Right?!

Hey Gang!

We are finally back with a new episode!!!

We have four amazing shows to recommend!

First off is my favorite Star Wars series Andor (DISNEY+) Which is chock full of amazing acting and powerful and very realistic storylines.

Then we talk about THE PALE BLUE EYE, a film out on NETFLIX. A mystery with some horror elements.

Finally we have two otherworldly docuseries about the afterlife. First we have LIFE AND DEATH WITH TYLER HENRY on NETFLIX and then another fascinating series called Surviving Death (NETFLIX) about ghosts, reincarnation and the like.

Our Tasty-Treat-Sensation is the amazing tortilla chip by EL RANCHERO, the spiced flavor.

Tangent: PERSUASION (1995) (RENT OR BUY on AMAZON PRIME or APPLE TV)

Hey Gang!

The Rings of Power (AMAZON PRIME); A beauifully diverse cast leads an adventurous story line set in stunningly beautiful locals. This one is a breathtaking thing of beauty. It is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and in every way fits right into that legacy, which is saying a lot from a big ole nerd like me.

Next we have Severance (APPLE TV); this one is so mysterious and thrilling, but is slow paced which can be a turn off to some, but hang in there! Christoper Walken's performance is sooo good! And KUDOS to Patricia Arquette.

But wait there's more, Only Murders in the Building is back with Season 2 (HULU) and is just as wonderful as Season 1! Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short are incredible! Watch for a couple of famous cameos. The last episode made me laugh so hard. Enjoy!

The Tasty-Treat-Sensation is Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants! They put Cherry syrup in their cherry coke!! They have incredible onion rings and put tartar sauce on their hamburgers! Need I say more???

Hey gang! It's the 49th episode of Sprinklez!

Today we have three HBO shows you are sure to love!!

First off my brother recommended, Station Eleven (HBO Max) which is a show about a pandemic (no not this pandemic) and surpise: iit doesn't have any zombies!! It is such a beautiful, impactful, at times it is a Shakespearean tragedy you shouldn't allow yourself to miss!

Secondly, I heard a review of HBO's Somebody Somewhere, on NPR and started watching it and immediately fell in love with this dramedy (I hate that word). It is funny but oh so real. You will laugh-out-loud and cry at the same time.

Downton Abby fans rejoice with Julian Fellowes new work: The Gilded Age (HBO MAX). Glamorous and soapy, what's not to love?!

This week's tasty-treat-sensation is the new Coca-Cola with Coffee, its addictive and delicious but not overly caffeinated, try the Vanilla flavored one!

Tangent:

Tron Uprising is amazing anime on Disney +.

When talking about Netflix's The Diplomat, I mentioned that the star Rufus Sewell starred in the Amazon Prime series "Man in the High Castle." View discretion is highly warranted as it involves intense psychological and physical violence, definitely not for children or viewer with sensitivities.

Rufus Sewell was also in the film Dark City (1998) which can be rented on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV or YouTube, Vuduand Google Play Movies.
