This Thanksgiving, it's all about the turkey — and the turkey is all about revenge. In ThanksKilling (2009), a vengeful turkey returns from the grave to enact justice on behalf of Native Americans everywhere, and he does it all while offending all kinds of other marginalized groups. On this episode of Spooky Tuesday, we're celebrating the holiday, debating a murderous turkey's morality, and absolutely not getting into the logistics of turkey sex.

Hereditary (2018): "Some Fuck Shit"

Spookies, we probably don’t need to tell you that some fuck shit goes down in Hereditary (2018). If there’s one thing most people know about this movie, it’s that — but if you don’t know, well, you might want a heads-up before you watch. On our latest episode, we're talking about the instantly iconic A24 horror, a.k.a. the project that kickstarted Ari Aster's career. With miniatures that will make your jaw drop, visuals so upsetting you won't be able to look away, and Toni Collette screaming about that face on your face, this flick has everything, and we do mean everything. It's the kind of movie that might take more than one watch to fully appreciate, but we're doing our best to cover it all on a new Spooky Tuesday.

Want to feel possibly the worst you’ve ever felt while also laughing a lot while also while also watching a child crawl all the way into an overlarge oven? Then we’ve got just the movie for you!! On this week’s Thanksgiving episode of Spooky Tuesday, we’re all about quality family time with The Visit (2015), a documentary-style flick from writer-director M. Night Shyamalan that will have you saying, “Shania Twain!” If that doesn’t make sense to you, don’t worry about it, because the only thing that you need to know going in is that Kathryn Hahn is super hot.

The Covenant (2006): "Abercrombie & Witch"

Spooky Tuesday — A Horror Movie Podcast

play

11/01/22 • 98 min

Chelsea could be remembering wrong, but we’re pretty sure the strength of this week’s movie was marketed solely on its stars’ hotness — and that alone should be enough to tell you that our latest episode of Spooky Tuesday is all about The Covenant (2006). Honestly, Sydney hit the nail on the fucking head when she joked that it is literally just Abercrombie & Witch. Starring Steven Strait, Taylor Kitsch, Chace Crawford, Toby Hemingway, and Sebastian Stan all in the absolute tiniest little swim shorts, this film is chock full of eye candy and homoerotic tension — which is a good thing since it might be a little light on the whole, you know, meaningfully developed female character front.

Poltergeist (1982): "Just Like Nana's House"

Spooky Tuesday — A Horror Movie Podcast

play

10/25/22 • 99 min

Is it just us, or is there something comfy-cozy about watching Poltergeist (1982)? OK, maybe it’s not even us, it’s just Chelsea — but we can all agree at the very least that the Freeling family is one we wouldn’t mind being a part of. Only maybe we’ll wait until after they move out of their haunted house to join Diane and Steve for an adults only smoke sesh. On a new Spooky Tuesday, we’re covering one of the most maybe-cursed movies of all time as we talk about ‘80s era graphics, home decor, and the very talented Tangina.

The Sixth Sense (1999): "LG(host)B(oy)TQIA+"

10/11/22 • 101 min

Are you one of the very lucky moviegoers who got to go into The Sixth Sense (1999) totally blind? M. Night Shyamalan’s first big flick rocked audiences when it hit theaters, and that famous twist in the final few minutes had people talking for years. For us, though, the real reveal was that Toni Collette is in this film — and that she is arguably the best part of it. On a new Spooky Tuesday, we’re talking about what we remembered, what we forgot, and who wanted to get their dicks out in what has to be one of the most quoted movies of all time.

In our Season 3 premiere, it’s time for Spooky Tuesday to take our own crack at the classic horror question: “Can you really make a HalloweenTM️ movie without Michael Myers?” That’s right, we’re rolling out the red carpet for a whole new spooky season, and we’re starting with Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982). Sharing more DNA with a film like Invasion of the Body Snatchers than a slasher flick, the third installment in John Carpenter and Debra Hill’s franchise tried to get back to their basic concept, but how well they pulled it off is still up for debate.

Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992): "Erotic Nightmare"

Spooky Tuesday — A Horror Movie Podcast

play

11/15/22 • 108 min

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) is a movie absolutely jam-packed with plot from beginning to end — and pretty much every single moment of it is unbelievably horny. We’re not kidding. This film features homoerotic shaving, kisses in the rain, female-presenting nipples, literal porn illustrations, and a ravishment scene straight out of any monster fucker’s wildest fantasy. Basically, it’s catnip for Spooky Tuesday, but on our latest episode, we promise we also saved at least a little time to talk about vampire lore, iconic practical effects, and which characters are obviously in a polycule.
