Gordon Copeland has lost over 4 stone in just 90 days by following the www.simpleasfat.com plan.

Gordon sent a photo and an e mail to Jon Gaunt thanking him for the inspiration. But to be fair, Jon has been re-inspired by Gordon and in this episode Jon uses Gordon's example to explain that until you have your head in the right place you will never lose real weight and never keep it off.

Gordon talks frankly about his sugar and food addiction and Jon empathises with him completely. They both used to eat 2 Cadbury Cream Eggs when paying for their petrol!

In this latest edition of the Simple as Fat podcast, Jon Gaunt explains that you do not have to buy an expensive gym membership or dress in lycra and buy a bike to lose weight and reverse Type 2 diabetes. You can do it simply by gentle walking and eating real food.

Jon has been walking at a moderate pace now for a year and has lost over 80 pounds in weight and reversed his diabetes and got his blood pressure back to normal. He is also off all meds.

He has done this without once breaking into a sweat and in this podcast he shows you how you can do the same.

Jon Gaunt has finally treated himself and bought a bike.

As you now he puts his weight loss and reversal of his Type 2 Diabetes mostly down to eating Low Carb High Fat real food (LCHF) but he now wants to venture further and for that he says he needs a bike.

However Jon states he is not having a mid-life crisis and he is certainly not going to be dressing in lycra and riding on our pot strewn roads. No, Jon has invested in a mountain bike which cost £750.

One of his fans on Simple as Fat remarked that they had spent the same amount on a car to which Jon replied, "yes but the car isn't going to get me fit is it?!"

Jon states that he has invested in himself and in his future and in this podcast he talks about how important it is for everyone who wants to lose weight to do the same and for once to put themselves first.

He says even though he has fallen off his bike it just made him giggle and riding downhill at speed has made him feel 18 again.

Jon is beginning to realise that taking back control of his body is great but taking back control of his mind is the next step in his journey to become a better man, husband and father!

Leading Cardiologist, Aseem Malhotra, tells Jon Gaunt that sugar is literally killing us.

It is the enemy not good animal fats and he has an eight point plan on how to reverse type 2 Diabetes in 3 years.

Jon Gaunt believes that gentle walking has not only improved his physical health but it has also helped and improved his mental health.

Jon started off doing 10 thousand steps a day, about 5 miles, but has now built up to an average of 9 miles a day. He credits this regime with reversing his Type 2 diabetes, gout, erectile dysfunction and got his blood pressure back into the normal range. He has also got off all his meds.

In this funny, honest but informative podcast Jon share his tips on how to beat obesity with walking Keto and LCHF eating.

He states you do not have to buy a bike, or a gym membership but instead just get your old trainers on and walk.

In this Simple as Fat podcast Jon also states that his mental health has massively improved. Jon is now aware of his surroundings and enjoys walking in the open air.

He is not only addicted to walking but he is actually addicted to mindful walking.

Gaunty says that there is no excuse to not get the steps in every day and he has plenty of practical tips on how to do this in our busy lives.

He has also discovered audible.co.uk and is now listening to books as he walks.

He believes that this helps him relax whilst at the same time he is losing weight and getting fit. He has read or listened to Robinson Crusoe, Jane Eyre, Beloved amongst loads of others. So Jon says he is training his body and mind at the same time and that you should try it too.

Jon Gaunt is gobsmacked and almost lost for words as he interviews the Godfather of the Low Carb High Fat (LCHF) movement, Professor Tim Noakes, about how he completely changed his diet and his life.

Tim went from thinking that a high carbohydrate diet was absolutely necessary for sports performance. But after 33 years of marathon running and then developing Type 2 diabetes he suddenly realised that he had got it all wrong.

He has now been Low Carb High Fat for seven years and he says he has lost buckets of weight, kicked his Type 2 into remission and has never felt better.

Tim believes that Type 2 diabetes is a disease of choice or behaviour and not a chronic disease.

He says we have been duped by the vegetable oil industry and the Grain lobby and that there is collusion between them, the sugar industry, Governments and education to continue to give the wrong dietary advice even when they know that the dietary advice we have followed from the Seventies is based on no real evidence.

He busts the myth surrounding the demonization of good animal fats and cholesterol and states that Insulin Resistance is the problem.

He believes that all chronic diseases are linked back to this and sugar, including Type 2 Diabetes, Strokes, Heart Attacks, Cancers, High Blood pressure and even Dementia.

Insulin Resistance and a high Carb diet is the root cause and we need to change the dietary advice around the globe to tackle Obesity.

He believes that diet is more important than medication and he states that the sugar and food scandal will be bigger than the Tobacco scandal.

In effect the food industry know that they are selling products that harm us.

He also states that Hunger drives fatness.

That is why he believes in the Low Carb High Fat diet as it fundamentally changes your relationship with food and that by following LCHF plans like www.simpleasfat.com you will no longer be controlled by food.

Animal fat does NOT make you fat.

In this funny and thoughtful, Simple as Fat free podcast Jon calls for Low Carb High Fat diets to be accepted as a third way of reversing Type 2 Diabetes and curing the obesity epidemic.

He rages about how much more evidence will be needed before medical authorities and dietary guidelines accept the blindingly obvious evidence in front of their eyes that people all around the globe are curing themselves by eating real food.

Jon says saturated fat is not the problem, it is excess sugar that is at the heart of the problem and major diseases like Type 2 diabetes, strokes, heart disease, obesity and dementia.

But no, the medical authorities are still refusing to alter their dietary advice and still insist that their Eatwell plate is the best way to eat and that the guidelines of a third of your plate being starchy carbs. Jon says this is just plain wrong. Jon calls it the “eat Death plate.”

Meanwhile Big Pharma is now suggesting that they could have a flab injection to cure obesity? More drugs!

Ex-BBC News presenter, Michael Buerk, has entered the fray telling fat people that they are fat because they simply eat too much. His ignorance is stupendous. This from the man who brought the Ethiopian famine to the West could have used his communication skills to help with the obesity problem and its victims rather than stigmatise them.

Jon rages that Buerk by name Burk by nature is ignorant of insulin resistance and should apologise and get himself educated.

Finally, Gaunty has a go at the United Nations who have joined the propaganda machine of the vegans and is recommending a fad and unhealthy vegan diet.

Jon states that the links between Big Food/Big Pharma and Government dietary guidelines must be broken as there is a genocide being committed around the globe.

However, Jon controversially states that telling people that they are fat is not bullying or “fat shaming” but plain common sense medical advice.

How do you cope with holidays if you are on a Low Carb High Fat or Keto diet?

Easy, says Jon Gaunt in this amusing and thought-provoking podcast about his journey in reversing his Type 2 Diabetes and losing tons of weight and taking back control of his life.

Gaunty states that if you follow the Simple as Fat plan you will not fall off the wagon and start eating sugar laden ultra-processed food whilst you relax in the sun.

Jon’s main mantra is “Do not put off today what you will not do tomorrow”

Jon says there is no good time to start a diet or lifestyle change so do not put it off with an excuse of, “I’m going on holiday” or my birthday is coming up so I will start after that” These are just excuses and mean you will always be fat.

Like being punched in the face by Tyson Fury is how Jon Gaunt describes being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.

He says it sent him into a panic and felt like a death sentence but he now knows that there are 3 ways to reverse Type 2 Diabetes and take back control of your life.

The 3 methods are: Bariatric Surgery, A drastic 800-calorie milkshake regime or eating a Low Carb High Fat diet (LCHF).

But Jon was not told any of this after that frightening moment 15 years ago when he was diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic.

He states that the food guidelines he was given, including the so called Eatwell plate were wrong. They just made him fatter and fatter.

The advice to eat a third of your plate as starchy carbs is bonkers in Gaunty’s view.

He also says that the ever-increasing amounts of drugs that were dished out just increased his weight too.

Jon ended up on ten tablets a day and was just weeks away from having to go on insulin. He was already on Metformin, Gliclazide, Perindopril blood pressure tablets and a load more.

Jon believes that many people in the NHS seem to just treat Type 2 as a road to insulin and amputation rather than practicing lifestyle intervention like Doctor David Unwin, Aseem Malhotra and Tim Noakes suggest.

Jon states “that the advice to eat baked potatoes with beans was terrible, I would have been better off just eating the butter.”

Jon describes his deterioration in health ending up with cataracts, gout, morbidly obese and just sitting on his sofa literally waiting to die. His HbA1c was at 91.

Then he started walking and investigating his tablets and his own health and had a ‘Saint Paul on the Road to Damascus’ moment when he realised that the answer was to eat Low Carb High Fat as people like Noakes, Unwin and Michael Mosley recommend.

Jon started eating this way and combined with gentle walking he turned around his Type 2 Diabetes and his other ailments. However, he carried on researching his diabetes.

Jon now knows there are 3 ways to reverse or cure Type 2 diabetes.

One is Bariatric surgery which Jon is not keen on as he believes it plays to the stigma and idea of Type 2 being a result of gluttony which Jon rejects. Type 2 Diabetes, as Jason Fung says is a disease of Insulin resistance.

The second way is the brilliant work of Professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University and Mike Lean of Glasgow University with their 800-calorie restriction diet based on only drinking milkshakes and soup for 8 weeks which leads to drastic weight loss.

Jon accepts that this works but his problem with it, is that eventually you do have to re-introduce real food again.

That’s why Jon favours eating real food and following a Low Carb High Fat diet (LCHF) as the best way of getting rapid weight loss and hopefully type 2 diabetes remission or reversal.

Using this method and combined with walking Jon lost weight rapidly and reversed his Type 2 Diabetes.

Jon is very angry that LCHF plans have not been accepted by the NHS as way of dealing with Type 2 despite the thousands of people around the Globe you have or are “curing” themselves by cutting out sugar and starchy carbs.

As a result, he has developed the www.simpleasfat.com website to help and inform other people, just like him, to lose weight and take back control of their lives.
