Psoriasis with Guest Comedian Kelly Ryan

We were so lucky to get Kelly on the podcast. We talk all about psoriasis and a mystery ailment on her legs that cured all by herself!
Psoriasis is an immune-mediated condition that causes the body to make new skin cells in days rather than weeks.

There are several types of psoriasis, the most common of which is plaque psoriasis. It causes patches of thick red skin and silvery scales that are typically found on the elbows, knees, and scalp.

Psoriasis causes itchiness and irritation and may be painful. There's no cure for psoriasis yet, but treatment can ease symptoms.

The topic of melasma was unintentional as we were going to talk about something else but, then Tania came in with an amazing story about melasma that she had (that was very bad) and how she got rid of NATURALLY it I definitely think it’s worth listening to. Not to mention the fact that she’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and very sexy. In case you can’t tell, the Sex, Drugs and Skincare podcast is in love with Tania.

Precious is one of the funniest people I know, and we’re so glad to have had her killing us on the pod. There is a lot of Dallas Cowboy talk while I stare blankly into the universe because I know everything about sports.

When we eat sugar, the molecules attach to the proteins and form free radicals. The presence of these radicals, in turn, can cause oxidative damage in our body which is evident on our skin (aka wrinkles and sagging) hair, nails and overall energy levels in the body.

Alcohol and refined foods can also have the same effect.

Robin also explains the magical effects on the skin from apple stems cells.. It’s not Stem cells from a baby....how about them apples? Skin care in the 80s was something special. We liked to dry the crap out of our skin, and please don’t even talk to me about highlighter or dewy faces, thank you very much.
