"First There!" The motto of the elite USAF CCT (Combat Controllers). Retired Lieutenant Colonel Dan Schilling served over 30 years in the military, primarily as a CCT & STO (Special Tactics Officer). He was chosen to author the bestselling book Alone at Dawn , the story of Medal of Honor recipient MSgt John Chapman, who was killed in action March 4th 2002 attempting to rescue fallen SEAL Team 6 member Neil Roberts. Dan Schilling also served as a Tier 1 operator at the elite 24th Special Tactics Squadron. With multiple combat & clandestine deployments around the globe, Dan fought in Operation Gothic Serpent, popularly known as "Black Hawk Down" from the Hollywood movie. During the Battle of Mogadishu, Dan was credited with saving the lives of both an Army Ranger and a SEAL Team 6 teammate while under fire. Dan Schilling finished his career as a commander, serving in the secretive JSOC (Joint Special Operations Command). Dan also holds the Guinness World Record for most BASE jumps in a day/24 hour period with 201 jumps, a feat he conducted to benefit children who’ve lost a parent in special operations through the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. He is also a professional-rated demonstration skydiver, speedwing pilot and volunteer ski instructor with Wasatch Adaptive Sports, helping those with disabilities to experience the thrill of downhill skiing.
Dan is now a full-time writer of both fiction and nonfiction. In addition to books, his writing has appeared in The Air Commando Journal, Cigar Aficionado and Parachutist magazines. He and his wife Julie, a former NSA cyber warfare operative, live in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. He can often be found skiing or flying his speedwing near Alta ski resort.   • Dr. Arnold Stocker is a former Army Green Beret 18D, USAF Pararescueman (PJ), and now a Lt Colonel in the Air Force Reserve. He now works full-time in anesthesia as a CRNA, and founded the program SFTA (South Florida Tactical Athletes). Arnold has instructed at 2 SOCOM Athlete Hell Days.
  • Instructor JP Cervantes, retired Green Beret, TV actor, and owner of Nous Defions Group LLC, an overseas, anti sex-trafficking organization. JP has instructed at 2 SOCOM Athlete Hell Days.

SOCOM Athlete has conducted 28 Hell Days events across the United States since November 2017, immersing students into an intense team environment, providing: credentialed instructors from various Special Operations backgrounds, rubber training rifles, tactical litters, large training logs, challenging scenarios, physical & mental stress, and more; replicating a training environment similar to Navy SEAL BUD/S Hell Week, USAF A&S, Army Ranger/Special Forces Assessment & Selection, etc. Students are administered an official Fitness Test (PST/PFT/PAST), and are then are exposed to strenuous environmental elements such as: cold water submersion, stress induced from instructors, team runs/ruck marches, challenging tasks & timelines, and more. Weaknesses & strengths are exposed in each student throughout the event, providing real-time proof/analysis of whether the student possesses necessary traits to become a Special Operator. Eric was born in Mexico City, in which his family immigrated to the United States. He received U.S. citizenship after being adopted by his stepfather. Prior to running for Congress, Eric served 15 years in the United States Air Force. While deployed to Afghanistan, Eric received a Bronze Star Medal for his actions during combat operations. The Air Force distinguished Eric’s courage under fire by awarding him with a second Bronze Star, with Valor, citing he “saved the lives of his Special Forces Team”. After separating from the Air Force, Eric founded the "First There Foundation," which provides support & resources to the Combat Control (CCT) community & their families. Eric is now a Congressional Candidate running for the House of Representatives, aiming to serve the United States on a new battleground.
