During our conversation, we discuss Tony's time in the Royal Australian Navy, his service in the Special Air Service Regiment (SASR) working with the Tactical Assault Group counter-terrorism team, and his post-military work as a photographer, videographer and editor.
We discuss realism and authenticity in action films from Tony's unique perspective as a special forces veteran.
We also talk about the filmmaking techniques of action films and how they've evolved over the years, and Tony gives his insights as a professional working in the creative industry.
Thank you to Tony for coming on the episode, it was an absolute privilege to hear about his story, learn more about his incredible life, and just geek out over movies with him.

In this episode, I interview David Lowbridge-Ellis, the creator of Licence to Queer, a website and podcast about Queer representation in the James Bond 007 franchise.
I wanted to discuss the importance of queer representation in action films for an episode of the podcast. However, I understand the privileged lens that I look at life through as a straight, white, cisgender man; so I wanted to bring on a guest who could speak to the topic in a way that I can't. I am so grateful to David for coming on and sharing about why queer representation is so important in films.
During the interview, we discuss James Bond, the early Hollywood Hays Code, representation in modern Hollywood and much more.
