About today's guest: Ross Stryker
Ross Stryker is a founder and CEO of Smart Asset Opportunities – which helps educate busy small business owners to take charge of their own financial freedom plan. He practiced dentistry and specialized in Orthodontics for over 35 years – 12 of those years were while serving in the US Army – reaching the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and later in private practice where he grew one of the largest single doctor practices in the country.
Ross has owned 40+ single family homes and written two books – one specifically on real estate investing. It is not the asset that makes the opportunity work – it’s the people behind the asset.
Having participated in a multitude of commercial projects, including Self Storage facilities, mobile home parks and more, Ross is passionate about getting money out of the wall street casinos and putting it to work on main street in safe, tangible investments.

My guest on today's show is my good friend, Joe McCall. Joe is first and most of all an avid family man. Joe enjoys hanging out with his kids at the zoo, or golfing with his boys, or swimming with his girls in the pool. Nothing is more important to Joe than God and family.
Joe is a former Civil Engineer responsible for the design and construction of power plants all across the country, his super power lies in his ability to simplify complex business processes and problems. Joe has been a business owner and real estate investor for more than 14 years, a master at building “niche within a niche” businesses, using technology as the foundation for customer acquisition, sales and deliverability.

Not only does Joe have his own super power, he is also an expert at flipping properties remotely. In the last several years, Joe has built his business in a way that has allowed him to spend months at a time traveling the world to places like Prague, Czech Republic, and 3 months traveling the northwestern part of the US in an RV, with his wife and four kids.

Gene Trowbridge has been in the commercial and investment real estate business continuously since 1972 and in the legal profession since 1996. He is a founding partner of Trowbridge Law Group LLP, and his law practice concentrates on the syndication of commercial and investment real estate, through both debt and equity. Gene was a former syndicator who raised investor capital for ten years. He was responsible for the organization of those investment groups; the acquisition, management, and disposition of the real estate; and communications with the investors. Because of Gene’s hands-on syndication experience, he is able to communicate with his clients, on both the technical and practical aspects of state and federal securities laws. Between Gene’s individual syndication background and the firm’s legal practice, the partners in the firm have written offerings of more than $5 Billion in monies raised. The median offering size is $2.5 million. His practice writes offerings under Rule 506(b) and 506(c) of Regulation D; Regulation CF and Regulation A+. Gene authored his first book It’s A Whole New Business in 2005. The third edition was released in 2015.

ABOUT HERBY BOWMAN
Herby has been successfully growing brands for decades. In the mid-’90s working with hospitality brands like Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Ramada, and more recently with Choice Hotels’ brands. He has had success in many areas. He has closed well over 100 hotel deals with brands like Comfort Inn & Suites, Days Inn, Sleep Inn, MainStay Suites, and Suburban Extended Stay Hotels and has helped these systems grow into the ubiquitous names they are today. June 2019 brought new challenges in the self-storage sector, promoting Public Storage's newly created Third Party Management Platform. In late 2021, he joined Store Space Self Storage to guide their growth and development efforts. Since graduating from the University of Tulsa in 1991, he has flourished in brand development and product promotion. Beginning his career at Sysco Foods, he quickly moved into hospitality product sales, working for Guest Supply. While at Guest Supply, he led the charge to build the amenity program for Guest House International. After a stint in Franchise Development with HFS (now Wyndham), the world of pharmaceuticals beckoned. He spent several years promoting brands for Johnson & Johnson, Bayer, and Roche. Before returning to Franchise Development, he earned the coveted “CMR,” Missing the art of the large deal, he then transitioned back into the realm of Hospitality Franchise Development. Working with Choice Hotels International since late in 2007, I earned six consecutive President’s Club Trophies and was awarded two prestigious “Deal of the Year” awards. Currently, he is Store Space Self Storage’s Vice President of Strategic Partnerships.
