Tell me your secret, I'll tell you mine — true confessions of love, sex, money, relationships, addictions, and hidden taboo topics that are often hilarious, uplifting, and hopeful. Hosted by best-selling author, actress, and coach Brianne Davis, the podcast offers a mix of guest interviews and topic-specific discussions.

Every Monday, listeners are invited to join Brianne as she pulls back the curtain and explores the how, what, when, where, and why of various subjects. Some episodes feature guests sharing their own secrets and stories, while in others Brianne takes a deep dive into a specific topic. Whether laughing, crying, or feeling inspired, each episode offers a revealing journey into the human experience.

Brianne's best-selling book, Secret Life of a Hollywood Sex & Love Addict, a roman à clef novel based on a decade in recovery (with a dash of creative license), was launched in February 2021.

What is shocking is the number of people that ACTUALLY have herpes—An estimated 491 million people aged 15–49 (13%) worldwide have HSV-2 infection (HSV-2 is a sexually transmitted infection that causes genital herpes.)

Like Brianne and Mark, Bianca has created multiple platforms to help others break barriers and bust through stigmas! In this episode, she courageously shares her story, reminding us that our secrets only hurt us if we keep them as secrets.

Growing up, Courtney's mother was often working two to three jobs and had to focus on her sister, who often acted out. So Courtney did her best to stay out of the way and not be a problem. The only problem was that they assumed she was fine and didn't receive the love and validation she truly needed.

We all do it, don't we? Someone does something terrible to us, and we spend hours, days, months, sometimes even a lifetime thinking about this person; what they did, how they wronged us, what we would do when we see them again and let it taint our perception of our life.

Vicki Reece has been passionately connecting with women and moms globally around all that matters most to them. It began back when her children were young – when violent toys were all the rage. And irresponsible messages were marketed to children. Not one to sit on the sidelines, Vicki created positive entertainment for kids. The kind moms wanted and children needed. That inspired and encouraged self-esteem, acceptance, and empathy – rather than tearing them down. With virtually zero resources, experience or know-how, Vicki created best-selling children’s products through pure grit and grass-roots.

Moms wanted more and Vicki listened and took action every step of the way. 10 years in the making.

At Joy of Mom, we come together – we mobilize – for the greater good.

Brianne has struggled with debilitating physical pain and cramps so bad she's laid up in bed three days a month since she was 13 and cannot function normally, accompanied by intense mood swings that often lead to incredibly dark thoughts.

During this time of the month, Mark, a recovering co-dependent (Al-Anon), does his best to try and make things better, only to fail time and time again. In the episode, he reveals secrets about how he ties his self-worth to being Brianne's (and his mom's as a kid) knight in shining armor, providing for her in hopes of being loved. A recipe for disaster most of the time.

Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is a severe, sometimes disabling extension of premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Although PMS and PMDD both have physical and emotional symptoms, PMDD causes extreme mood shifts that can disrupt daily life and damage relationships.

What are the symptoms of PMDD?

• Anger or irritability.

• Anxiety and panic attacks.

• Depression and suicidal thoughts.

• Difficulty concentrating.

• Fatigue and low energy.

• Food cravings or binge eating.

• Headaches.

• Insomnia.

Virtually every woman knows when her period is coming. The bloating, the breast tenderness, the "munchies," and mood swings are known and typically endured because the symptoms are relatively mild for most women. For approximately 5% of women, though, this time is true agony.

Natasha was diagnosed with BPD at the age of 33 after years of being told she just had depression or she was too 'OVER THE TOP' her entire life - after entering treatment and learning how to adopt DBT skills into her life, her entire way of being shifted for the better and she knew she had to share the wisdom and help others.

______

What is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)? BPD is a type of ‘personality disorder’. It is an illness that makes you struggle with your emotions and this can affect your relationships with other people. Around 1 in 100 people have BPD. It seems to affect men and women equally, but women are more likely to have this diagnosis. This may be because men are less likely to ask for help. Everyone will experience BPD differently. If you have BPD, you may have problems with:

  • feeling isolated or abandoned by others,
  • self-harming or suicidal thoughts,
  • coping with stress,
  • getting on with other people,
  • strong emotions that you find hard to cope with,
  • misusing alcohol and prescription drugs,
  • illegal drugs and substances,
  • understanding other people’s points of view,
  • staying in work,
  • having a long-term relationship, or
  • being able to maintain a home.

It is called ‘borderline’ because doctors used to think it was on the border between two different disorders: neurosis and psychosis. Doctors no longer like to use these terms to describe mental illness. It is sometimes called Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). Some people feel that this describes the illness better.

Some people with a personality disorder think that the name is insulting or makes them feel labeled. But doctors do not use this term to make you feel judged or suggest that the illness is your fault. It is meant to describe the way the illness develops.

After graduating with a BA (hons) in Film Studies and American Studies, I worked in the media industry in a variety of roles. Some of the companies I've had the pleasure to work for include; Prime Video (Amazon), Al Jazeera English, Channel 4, Film 4, Zoopla Property Group and Virgin Media.

I was diagnosed with BPD at the age of 33 after years of being told I just had depression or I was too 'OVER THE TOP' my entire life - after entering treatment and learning how to adopt DBT skills into my life, my entire way of being shifted for the better and I knew I had to share the wisdom and help others.

I am a walking example of how much DBT helped reduce the painful symptoms of BPD, I now have a life I've created that is worth living. I am also a writer and speaker, I've been published in the following publications; Ham & High newspaper,Time To Change Charity, Londonist, FlickFeast, Women's Health Magazine and The Film Tree. I’ve also just finished my first TV dark comedy series with my writing partner and working on my first short film.
