Welcome to the first episode of "Goes to the Movies" today Host Austin and Host Brenda talk about "Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace, Vs. The Universe" and the 2020 Disney Plus exclusive non-theatrical movie "Mulan".

AN IMPORTANT NOTE: SHoM went to the movies! We tried something new & hope you enjoy! During this episode we both speak of how we enjoyed the film Mulan. We’ve learned since recording last Friday, that there are many issues with the film according to Chinese individuals speaking out. These complaints need to be heard, and our opinions as non Chinese podcasters mean nothing compared to the people who feel that the film is inaccurate and even damaging. Please take some time to read through the threads below (More will be added as we find them).

We still want to share our initial reactions to the film, and so are uploading the full episode unaltered, but please take some time to read and reflect.

Thank you!

Comic con came and went, and nothing of much import occurred, so we don't have much to say. However, Host Brenda watched a 20 year old Disney movie and uncovered the hidden history behind its hi-jinks. If you think the Emperor's New Groove is just a movie about a man who is turned into a llama, you aren't exactly wrong, but you aren't completely right. We uncover this film's surprising history as "Kingdom of the Sun", and also talk too much about the Toy Story Universe in the process.
