Welcome to SCI Care: What really matters, a new podcast brought to you by the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS). A podcast series to rethink current trends & the future potential of Spinal Cord Injury Management and cover SCI Care and all that really matters. With each episode, we will speak with experts from all over the world to discuss various aspects of spinal cord injury including etiology, prevention and care, providing valuable insights regarding the most up to date information for those providing care for the spinal cord injured. In some episodes, there will also be discussion on how societies of health care professionals, like ISCoS, can help improve the outcomes of spinal cord injured and the lived experience of consumers through strategic planning in the field of scientific/ research activities, education, training & capacity building, partnering/ collaboration, communication & advocacy. Join Prof Ruth Marshall and Dr Harvinder Chhabra for the final episode in series one of SCI Care: What Really Matters as they discuss the success of the 59th ISCoS annual scientific meeting from the concerns and apprehensions of going fully virtual to the pleasant surprises and highlights of what worked.

As well as the benefits of a fully virtual and the potential of future hybrid events offer and the further possibilities and opportunities for greater educational accessibility no matter where you are in the world and what your circumstances may be. Having a virtual element to all events in the future will offer the luxury of time, you can revisit sessions you enjoyed or perhaps missed as well as ponder over the poster sessions in your own time and messaging the authors directly with your questions.
