It was great chatting with Knox again, he's a cool guy. We hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording this. If you haven't listened to Enforced, you really should. These guys are top tier thrash.

Welcome to Scatterbrain Podcast Episode 147!

If you were alive and of at least school-age, you probably remember where you were on January 28, 1986, when The Challenger space shuttle disaster occurred. One thing you may not know is the conspiracy theory surrounding this event. The excitement leading up to the mission was squashed by the subsequent catastrophe. What happened and why?

We also check out the sophomore release “Supraliminal” by Nothingness, from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Welcome to Scatterbrain Podcast Episode 136!

This week, we review "Of Earth & Flesh", the debut album from Australian death metal band, Writhing.

Then, we continue the space-themed discussion as we talk about the planet Mars. For thousands of years, humans have attributed much importance to Mars. Whether naming after a deity or considering Mars as the origin of humans on Earth, there's no doubt Mars has an interesting history. Did life once thrive on Mars? Does human life descend from an ancient civilization on Mars? Things get heated as we talk about these and other possibilities regarding life and civilization on The Red Planet.

Scatterbrain Podcast - Episode 143 - Scatterbrain Podcast: Mel's Hole
play

01/18/23 • 49 min

Welcome to Scatterbrain Podcast Episode 143: Mel's Hole.

Our main topic this week is a tale told by Mel Waters to Art Bell back in 1997 on Coast to Coast AM. It is a good story. An interesting tale. But, is that all it is? Just a fun and creepy story? Or is it true? Is Mel Waters even a real person? You decide.

We start this week by talking more space stuff - of course! The JWT is creating even more questions with new and confounding discoveries. Is the Earth hollow and inhabited? Is the Moon an artificial structure? And how far is 100 LY actually, relatively speaking? It's becoming apparent that the more humanity discovers, the less we actually know.

Then we delve into a bit a metal history by trash-talking a band that you may have heard of... because some bands stay true to their sound and themselves. Like Florida death-metal legends Obituary. This week we review their new album, "Dying of Everything".

Thanks for listening everyone! If you think of us as your friends, it's because we are!

Welcome to Scatterbrain Podcast Episode 132!

We've been talking a lot lately about space research and space exploration, so it only makes sense to talk about what started it all: Sputnik 1. We talk about the early missions to space and the ensuing "space race" between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. during the Cold War.

We also talk about a couple of new albums this week: "Survival of the Sickest", the latest from Bloodbath and "A Blind Eye", from Assault

Scatterbrain Podcast - Episode 135 - Scatterbrain Podcast: Space Race Part 3
play

11/03/22 • 59 min

Welcome one and all to Scatterbrain Podcast Episode 135: Space Race Part 3.

In our final installment of our Space Race series we talk about Werner Von Braun, the Nazi SS Officer who was captured by the The United States military at the end of WWII and brought to the U.S.A. with thousands of other German scientists under Operation Paperclip. He and his group of scientists were instrumental in bringing the U.S. victory in the the Space Race by designing and building the giant Saturn V rocket that took men to the Moon and back... nine times! Twice to orbit the Moon and test systems and procedures, twice with Apollos 11 and 12 ( when men first walked on the Moon ), one near-catastrophe with Apollo 13, then four more missions with successful landings! That's 24 humans that left Earth orbit and traveled to the Moon and back ( 3 astronauts went twice, if you're doing the math )! Twelve Americans walked on the Moon and came home safely! And it would not have been possible without the genius and vision of one man in particular: Werner Von Braun. But, he had blood on his hands, and he never paid for his crimes as part of one of the most evil regimes in human history. Was it worth it? Is turning your back on your morals, ideals, and humanity justified if it helps to best your hated and feared rival? The enemy of my enemy is my friend, right? No matter now. The United States won that bitch straight up! Ha! Suck it Soviet Union! Losers!

We also review yet another Texas death-metal outfit called Tribal Gaze, and their freshman offering, "The Nine Choirs".

Thanks for all your support, everyone! We really do work hard to keep this going every week. For the metal. For the bands. New and old. Thrash is a lifestyle, and us two old fucks are proof of that!

Catch us wherever you consume podcasts, as well as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and some other place... I forgot. I'm tired.
