What is #SaturdayMorningHustle Podcast about?

If you want something bad enough, you have to hustle for it. You can’t just work 9-5 Monday through Friday and hope to become the next big thing. You must work smart, work hard and put in the extra effort while everyone is sleeping, playing or just wasting time. For me, that “bonus” time to get extra work done and set myself up for a more successful week to come in on Saturday morning. No phone calls, emails, or anyone around the office to distract me. It’s easier to stay in bed on the weekend, but big things don’t happen easily.

Welcome to episode 15 of "Professional Balance" a bonus content series of the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast. On this episode, we will discuss building a collaborative community vs. leadership of an idealistic visionary vs. not giving a F*@% about other people's opinions. How can you balance working with others, closely or as part of a group, while retaining control over your process and individually? Can you lead and follow at the same time? Can these seemingly opposite ideas be balanced, and if so, how?

No one can do everything, know everything and manage all the aspects of a business at the same time. This is why collaboration, delegation and partnerships exist. We need other people with different skills, experiences and perspectives to add to our entrepreneurial pursuits to be successful. No one has ever risen to great heights by themselves. BUT, many great ideas have been spoiled by too many cooks in the kitchen. The biggest and most successful (because they are disruptive) come from charismatic visionaries who control everything. Every great team has a leadership core, but other employees and fans, customers, family, friends and random strangers on social media all want to add their "2 cents" by providing advice, ideas, etc. So how do we balance all the "noise" with good ideas?

This long-form audio-only podcast is posted once a month as an opportunity to dive deep into the issues that challenge all entrepreneurs, business owners, career builders and decision-makers. "How to balance what seems to be contradictory viewpoints” in business and personal life. More than just work/life balance, we examine a variety of “this or that” scenarios.

Thanks for listening to the “professional balance” bonus content series of the Saturday Morning Hustle podcast. I will be back next month with a new topic, and new podcast every Saturday with Hustle and Motivation advice from the office while the competition is still sleeping. Please subscribe, leave a review and make a comment on social media about what balance issues you would like to hear discussed on this series.

#SaturdayMorningHustle Podcast - Importance Of Vacation #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback Episode
play

10/14/23 • 14 min

A #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback to July 31st, 2021 talking with you about the value of utilizing vacation time while I'm on vacation (I'm at the lake for a 3-day weekend right now). Taking time off might seem foreign to most entrepreneurs (myself included) but there are plenty of reasons to take the occasional extended break. Not only is a vacation good for your physical and mental health, but it's also the perfect way to clear your head, reduce your stress, recharge your hustle battery and remind yourself why you work so hard to begin with. A planned pattern interrupt can help you be more productive with the hours you put in hustling and grinding. Let's talk about it!

It's Saturday. I'm in the office. This is the Saturday Morning Hustle podcast for anyone willing to come in early, stay late or hustle on the weekend to be successful. All good things end or change. The process of growth (business or professional) involves utilizing change (adjust, adapt or adopt) to take advantage of opportunities. The #SaturdayMorningHustle has changed many times in the last 300+ weeks, and we're doing it again.

Hustle Culture has also changed, so the SHM is adjusting to that fact now and in the near future. It's not goodbye; it's "let's try something different" for now.

#SaturdayMorningHustle Podcast - Work Smart, Then Work Hard #SaturdayMorningHustle Flashback Episode
play

06/08/24 • 12 min

On this flashback episode from 6/12/21, we're going past #Hustle and #Grind, getting into two specific concepts for entrepreneurs, business owners, side hustlers, career builders or anyone pursuing a passion should be utilizing. Ignore the old saying "Work Smart, Not Hard" but instead replace it with "Work Smart, then Work Hard." Do both together in that order.

Work Smart: Have a plan, put a strategy into place and understand your strengths and weaknesses, market condition, your competition, your audience, your value proposition and your selling position. Focus, measure and adjust for what's working (do more of that) and what's not working (do less of that) for repeatable success.

Work Hard: Now that you're informed, organized and focused, put in the work. Otherwise, working hard is just being busy, not actually creating success. Use your smart plan to get the most accomplished in the most complete ways at the highest levels of quality and consistency. Don't cut corners; do the work at every level to ensure an effective outcome. Don't try to work less; work more effectively. Why? Because nothing great ever happened without hard work.

This episode of the podcast explains in deep detail how these concepts work, support each other and lead to sustainable, repeatable success. Let's talk about it! It's Saturday. I'm in the office. This is the #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast. Listen while your competition is still sleeping. https://bit.ly/ListenToSMH

A different take on balancing opposite concepts on an all-new #SaturdayMorningHustle podcast. Not just work/life balance or deciding between self-serving or team attitude (last week's episode) but also balancing promotion/value, promise/deliver and give/ask for concepts for entrepreneurs, business owners, artists, musicians, influencers and self-brands. Let's talk about why balance in approach, attitude and planning is crucial to success. You have to give and take, but how much and when? Let's discuss.
