Hi Run Adjacent fans. In this episode with Martin Harrap, Whangarei parkrun co event director, and parkrun New Zealand Ambassador. Martin got back into running at the age of 68 and has run the Auckland, Hawkes bay, Queenstown, and now Noosa marathons.
It’s a great yarn where we talked about getting back into running at an older age and what keeps him going.

Hannah Thompson
Run Adjacent
05/29/23 • 24 min
In this episode I interviewed Hannah Thompson who will be co-hosting future episodes with me so I thought it would only be fair to give he an episode of her own so you the listener can get to know her.
This interview was going to be a nice little fluff piece but took a great turn when Hannah shared with us having a diabetic hypo attack during the Auckland marathon last year.
Despite spending some time in an ambulance, she still managed to finish the marathon in a time of 3 hours 47.
She also shared her experience of living with diabetes, and how she manages it on a daily basis.

Steve Trass
Run Adjacent
05/09/23 • 17 min
Welcome to episode 1 of the Run Adjacent.
This interview was recorded on Sunday the 7th May the day after the Rotorua Marathon.
In this interview I sat down with my good running friend Steve Trass.
Steve had run the marathon with a time of 3.25.30 which was good enough to win the NZ Masters marathon title in the 60-65 age group.
Steve is an absolute warrior, he has run 12 Marathons, 3 Ultra Marathons, more than 90 parkruns, and is also a completive road cyclist.
I credit his mentorship with helping me complete my first ultra marathon back in 2018.
We chatted about his mixed schedule leading up to Rotorua, how his running has improved over since 2016, the state of running in Whangarei, and did some quick fire questions which weren’t all that quick fire.
