Rozarie's Room - Kehlani's Blue Water Road is an Instant Classic
play

05/03/22 • 38 min

Kehlani is an artist whose music I have enjoyed for years. Having gone through a similar journey with struggling with toxic relationships, I gush over their newest album, blue water road because of the growth that is shown sonically, lyrically, and conceptually.

Rozarie's Room - My Favorite Music Finds: Benee's Lychee
play

03/22/22 • 25 min

Hello world! Today I felt inclined to talk about my recent music discoveries and music I am enjoying. This episode covers how I feel about "indie" music at the moment, and the experimentation and genre blending we are seeing from Gen Z artists. I do a track by track breakdown and give my thoughts on the newly released project by Benee titled Lychee.

Rozarie's Room - Some Things Are Better Left Unfinished...
play

11/16/21 • 27 min

Another variety episode, but this time with an over arching theme: things I decided to stop interacting with.
We cover the Sims 4, TV shows including Insecure, Grownish, The Handmaid's Tale, Euphoria, and distancing myself from unrelatable music. I believe it runs true that some things are better left alone, or better yet unfinished.

Rozarie's Room - Looking Back at the First Part of Steven Universe
play

09/14/21 • 42 min

Steven Universe is a Cartoon Network show that is about so much more than the goofy adventures of a little boy. It's arguably the show that made progressive modern cartoons what they are today.
This episode covers the first major storyline of the show from Season 1 through Season 3, which is what I call "the cluster arc."

Don't mind me I'm just in another state of existential anxiety. The season 3 finale begins with a general how am I feeling? Type of check in. September & October can feel like a rough time for me as I anticipate the end of the year. I've been in a “trying my best” type of mood just carrying on with things.

I talk about doomscrolling into the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and manifestation vs goal setting before starting my entertainment roundup of sorts.

Post pandemic, America is deep in a loneliness epidemic as social isolation is at an all time high.
I've decided to be tactfully vulnerable and share my struggles with friendships, mainly desiring new friendships but struggling with social anxiety especially when getting to know people. I talk through and own some insecurities about my social life in hopes that you can find solidarity.
I also dive into what my healing journey has looked like, and what exactly is the work? It's important to point out that the rhetoric surrounding healing and self worth on social media lacks nuance and can be a slippery slope into more shame and isolation.

Sorry I missed last episode guys, Mercury was LITERALLY in retrograde. Plus like, every other planet or something. Today I'll be giving an overview of my understanding of astrology! Our favorite coping mechanism.
I wanted to acknowledge my perspective is through tropical astrology and the placidus house system. Recognizing the systems of astrology forming your understanding helps combat the muddy waters of appropriation and losing nuance to social media content made for generalized audiences.
I'll give a taste of information about houses, planets, signs, degrees, aspects, transits, rulers, and more. But of course, I'm not a professional. This episode is for entertainment purposes only. Assume nothing and do your own research!

We're back at it a year later :)
Today I give a review on my first festival experience, discussing which artists I decided to watch, gen z's lack of concert etiquette, and more.
This episode covers the lead up to Gov Ball from the moment the lineup was announced, to the smoke from Canadian wildfires blanketing New York City days before the festival.
From starting the days with good vibes to the mood being soured by rough and rowdy crowds, this festival was full of ups and downs. Did New York City's only big festival this year live up to expectations?
Artists mentioned include: Ice Spice, Metro Boomin, Lil Uzi Vert, Kenny Beats, ODESZA, PinkPantheress, Pusha T, Lil Nas X, Kendrick Lamar.
