Music Masthun, Jesse Gimbel Builds Alluring Music.
Round Guys Radio Network
11/25/19 • 23 min
Round Guys Radio welcomed Jesse Gimbel and his highly talented but not named band for a special podcast and performance. Round Guys Radio is hosted by Bill McGeeney, and produced by Mamata Tharima. Learn more about Round Guys Radio by listening wherever podcasts are found, or going to RoundGuysBrewery.com. Performances recorded at UndergroundLansdale.com.
--------------
Jesse Gimbel appeared on Round Guys Radio’s Music Mashtun episode this November. The show recorded in October prior to Gimbel’s performance at the Underground by Round Guys Brewing Company in Lansdale, PA on 11/22/19 with My Familiar and Pulling Daisies.
Best described as modern folk with mixtures with catchy pop-rock sounds, the band plays an eclectic sound driven by members Andy Williams (drummer), Robbie Simmons (bass), and Bianca Cevoli (keys).
Gimbel maintains a notable regional name thanks in part due to the band’s impressive onstage presence but also from his very theatrical, diy approach to marketing. Gimbel describes building from scratch a scene where he drove a car into a lake for the ‘Move or Move On’ video.
In the current environment, Gimbel feels it’s best to build innovate, catchy tracks over albums, which accordingly should narrate a complete musical story. To this end, the band focuses on building individual tracks specifically to deliver impressive stand alone sounds.
In addition to making unique, folky music, Gimbel runs a basement studio where notable performers such as Victor Traps and Ryan Tennis have recorded.
The Jesse Gimbel experience doesn’t solely derive from one man. It is an all hands on deck collaboration. Singer and keys, Bianca Cevoli maintains a longstanding college founded music related relationship with Gimbel. A lifelong guitarist, Cevoli, only took up keys as a serious endeavor after receiving the call to join Gimbel for his new project. She describes her role as multi-instrumental involving both keys and percussion, depending on the moment and the song. Meanwhile, bassist Simmons joined the band after responding to a post by Gimbel in need of a bass player for a gig on the self described world’s hottest day.

Inside the Brewery: Peanut Butter Jelly Time!
Round Guys Radio Network
01/17/22 • 24 min
One of the unique constraints the Covid pandemic placed on society during 2020 drew from society’s ability to protect the underserved, most notably the homeless and poor living often unseen in our region. Long community focused, Lou Farrell devised an innovative and simple solution to reduce food insecurity during the pandemic lockdown. He began delivering peanut butter and jelly sandwiches downtown!
The brilliance of a peanut butter and jelly campaign to feed the hungry pulls in part from Farrell’s previous work helping the needy. Peanut butter, as we all know, can be quite a sturdy protein, less temperamental to many temperature challenges you’d have with other proteins and fats. In addition, jelly provides a pleasant sugar for homeless individuals, whom, due to the nature of being on the streets, can burn through these calories quite fast.
Sandwiches need not be sophisticated works of culinary art. Instead, Farrell requests that people use simple white bread to appeal to all palates, left whole – not cut. Creamy peanut butter must be double layered, followed by a simple coating of grape jelly. Wrap the sandwiches in a clear plastic ziplock bag. Stack the completed sandwiches into a box and drive them to a drop off point. From that point on, it’s Farrell’s job! Farrell picks up the food items and delivers them around to three different food bank / drop off areas.
Join Round Guys Radio Network's Inside the Brewery Podcast host, Bill McGeeney as he explores all there is to know about the Bread Drop Campaign. Learn more about this podcast episode by going to https://roundguysbrewery.com/round-guys-podcast/rgr/inside-the-brewery-peanut-butter-jelly-time/.

Inside the Brewery: A Mead Barrel Adventure!
Round Guys Radio Network
06/22/21 • 28 min
It’s 2020 and the world has been flipped upside down due to a dangerous pandemic that ravaged older members of society. For many, the lockdown gave us pause to reflect on what really mattered in life. For Round Guys Brewing Company founder, Scott Rudich, it gave him ideas!
Scott always wanted to have a strong barrel aging program, however, time commitments largely pulled his attention away until then. Pagan Poetry in its first incarnation featured a quad aged in a tasty white wine barrel. Inside the Brewery host, Bill McGeeney, recalls the delicate pear and apple notes that weaved silky waves into the plum and dark fruit quad base beer. A truly magical moment for any fan of beer to behold!
In 2020, Round Guys Brewing Company found themselves straddled with an uncertain production schedule and an uncertain consumption market. The team brewed a high abv Scottish wee-heavy style beer called Iron Tusk. Iron Tusk became a perfect candidate for aging in a barrel. However, it wasn’t going to be just any barrel!
At the same time, Adam Crockett of Upper Reach Meadery, continued to forge ground breaking meads, bending mead making to its most creative limits, without gimmicks or strange adjuncts. His focus was on perfecting the craft, redefining the mead market similar to how craft beer took the reigns from light lagers and distributed flavor and enjoyment back to the masses!
Rudich and Crockett teamed up, whereby Round Guys Brewing Company would purchase barrels for aging this already tasty Iron Tusk! In this episode, you’ll be taken on a master class of barrel and mead making by two true professionals in their field.

Inside the Brewery: Black is Beautiful
Round Guys Radio Network
07/24/20 • 21 min
Black is Beautiful, a name borrowed from a prior time and a movement celebrating pride and bringing awareness to continued disparities and police violence against people of color. Marcus Baskerville, co-founder of Weathered Souls Brewing Company, found himself brewing more than just a beer. He started a new movement, the Black is Beautiful fundraising effort to not only bring awareness to police brutality but to open people’s eyes to the lingering, sometimes more subtle, racism that surrounds us daily.
I debated releasing this episode until I built the full show, which when initially planned would be a show focusing on this beer’s impact in Lansdale. For now, that’s on the backburner. Instead, I decided to get to know Baskerville. We hear his story to beer and how one missed protest drove him to build a movement.
Round Guys Radio's Inside the Brewery is presented by Round Guys Brewing Company. This episode features host Bill McGeeney interviewing Marcus Baskerville. Art of the Brewery: Bumblebee Wheat
Round Guys Radio Network
05/03/20 • 34 min
Most Round Guys Brewing Company consumers are aware of Bumblebee Wheat Ale, the beer. however, many may be surprised to learn that the beer actually derives from a concept laid out months in a comicbook featuring the 'story' history of how the beer was invented. Currently, the Stereotytans are running a coloring contest where you can actually win a 4 pack of Bumblebee Wheat Ale. For the first time you can read the full story of Bumblebee Wheat at our website, RoundGuysBrewery.com/stereotytans.
Host Bill McGeeney sits down with Philadelphia based artist James Comey to discuss the Stereotytans' Bumblebee Wheat comic book, and their adherence to visual storytelling. This episode features the song, Bumblebee Weed.

Inside the Brewery: A Tale of Two Seltzers
Round Guys Radio Network
09/21/20 • 29 min
Brothers Vivek and Vikram Nayar desired a change in pace from the world of finance. They moved to Philadelphia, contracted some brewing time and started up Two Robbers Hard Seltzer. Two Robbers Seltzer, coincidentally, caught the eye of Round Guys Brewing Company’s co-founder, Scott Rudich. Rudich, whom after a recent doctor’s visit decided to slow his beer drinking pace, stumbled upon Two Robbers at a distributor in Nazareth, PA. Two Robbers Hard Seltzer serves as impetus and aspiration for the new Round Guys Brewing Company hard seltzer brand, Gimme Seltzer.
In this episode, hear the path both businesses took to brewing seltzer. On one side of the coin, two brothers fulfilled an entrepreneurial dream, on the other side, two coworkers searched for a solution to new health impediments that prevented from drinking beer.
