A new season has arrived and in our very first episode we talk to a brand new building transformation grassroots organization, using a vast network to make it happen.
Prospect 11, a company based in the South East of Amsterdam is owned by Charity Reinhold and Angelo Bromet and together with Wouter Pocornie they have created a home for young entrepreneurs and which offers space and supply for talent development and stimulates collaboration between young people and Amsterdam cultural and commercial partners.
They have succeeded in creating a trusted environment and with their years of experience are able to open this up to real local empowerment and independence.
We visit new territories to learn more about what is needed for this level of excellence.
Many more to come.

The murder of George Floyd ingnited a wave of initiatives, of which the most important one in Advertising in the Netherlands was grown under the title PlusPlusOne. Driven by some of Adlands most influential leaders of colour, Alex Bennet-Grant & Emilio de Haan have been able to lockdown on a solid approach. In this podcast they tell us how this new territory will be mined. Through personal anekdotes and some hurtful examples. The bottomline is, we are getting this done, for real and for the future. If you are reading this, we would like to give a special s/o to Prospect 11, Joelle Strijk, Alvaro Sotomayor, Eke Bon, Dinesh, the ADCN & the diversity fund, all the tutors and all the mentors who have been involved since the start. A special shout out to our families, for nodding yes to long days and many tears.

WdKa2. Students of the prestigious Advertising & Beyond department of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam expressed their strong doubts about an internship or career at advertising agencies. They experience a disconnect and wonder if agencies are the best place to do creative, relevant and purposeful work. They have other plans, especially after the murder of George Floyd on May 25 2020, and they do not involve us as an Industry. This episode was also taped at the KINO in Rotterdam and involved an open mic for the audience which led to a rightful break in by students who felt the convo was not being brought to the level it should. That's on me, I forgot the basic of this struggle, keep talking about it, keep educating, never relax into the norm, always be switched on. Give the mic to those who have not been heard enough, allow safespace for those fighting in the struggle every single day.

WdKA. A school with a long lasting history of supplying the new talent to our advertising industry is in crisis. An identity crisis it seems. In our first on tour edition we met with students of the Willem de Kooning Academie in the wonderful Kino cinema to talk about everything that has been happening since the murder of George Floyd up till now.

OG. In this episode we talk to Marguerite Jonathan (77) and Arnold Isaacs (82) both former activists. They also happen to be my parents and together with them I dive into our family history. About growing up in an Apartheid system, how they fought against it. What made them leave their country and brought them to the Netherlands. About their first impressions of our nation, culture shocks and how their kids decided not to follow their example.
But also about the struggle, the movement, how they set things up and how they advice this generation and the generation after to keep the fire burning.
For me its a first real heart to heart together on this topic, after an hour into it I realized how much we as a total family had gone through before we even could say we had become first class citizens if anything, and I realize how much knowledge, stamina and dedication both my parents had to change a system like apartheid. It fills me with energy to continue on this road to spreading the talk. It makes me humble to who they are and what they represent. It also makes me humble as to how little I know and pushes me to get educated. They also shed a little light on what a stupid kid I was growing up, so no suprises there.
This is also this Season's Finale Episode. We will be back with Season 3 soon.
