On Ron’s Amazing Stories we review an amazing Antman audiobook from Marvel Comics. Two things make this a great listen. The story and the narrator. Next up we have two ghost tales from Ross (A screaming ghost and The Blue Boy). We end the show today with a science fiction story read for us by Ben. It comes from the 1940’s pulp mags and it is an amazing story about a pirate asteroid and the marooned patrol officers sent to take down their leader. All you have to do now is press that play button and enjoy the show. Featured Story - The Monster Maker Our featured story comes from the pulp magazines. I was sent an email by Ben Tucker, who lives in Santa Monica, CA. He wrote that he had a story that he would like to read. The problem was that it was written by Ray Bradbury and as you might guess most of his stuff is copyrighted or trademarked. So, I got on the google machine and began my quest on The Monster Maker by Ray Bradbury. I was pleased to find that it first appeared in Planet Stories' Spring edition of 1944. That means that it is in public domain and can be used on the show. This is a great story and I know that you are going to enjoy it. "Get Gunther," the official orders read. It was to laugh! For Click and Irish were marooned on the pirate's asteroid—their only weapons a single gun and a news-reel camera. Other Stories Include - The Gas Station Shooting, Review - The Heroes' Journey, The Shadow Screamer, The Boy Blue, and The Monster Maker Ron’s Amazing Stories Is Sponsored by: Audible - You can get a free audiobook and a 30 day free trial at and - Good Treats for your dog to eat. It aired on episode #418 back in January of 2020. Also, We have a review of an exclusive Audible audiobook titled Trapdoor. On this week we tackle the subject of the skinwalker with two creepy stories. Ron also gives some history and background on the origins of the beast. Then we have a full-on werewolf story from the annals of the golden age of radio. We end the show with another round of truth or fiction with Johnny Is It True - Strange History. You might not want to listen to this one alone! Featured Story - W Is For Werewolf Our featured story comes from a rare old-time radio series called Dark Fantasy. In the forties, people loved a good wolfman story, so it should come as no surprise that radio and cinema provided them. Some of the best was 1941’s The Wolfman, Cry Of The Wolfman from 1944, and of course a favorite of mine Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein. Now, in case you are wondering, a wolfman plays a significant role in that film. Our story is titled W is For Werewolf and first aired on February 13, 1942. Other Stories Include - Blood Brothers, Skinwalkers, The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch, A Skinwalker Visitation, W Is For Werewolf, and Johnny Is It True - Strange History Ron’s Amazing Stories Sponsored by: Audible - You can get a free audiobook and a 30 day free trial at and - Good Treats for your dog to eat. On today it is one of those shows where you are going to hear a lot of stuff. We have no less than 12 different tales that range from ghost stories, to science fiction, to a memorial tale and even a brand new Johnny Is It True. We will even visit the 1904 olympiad. So sit back, enjoy, because I think you're in for something completely different. Featured Story - The 1904 Olympics Well as you know these past two weeks we have been watching the 2020 Olympics from Japan. Something that I have really been enjoying. America’s first Olympics may have been its worst, or at least its most bizarre. Held in 1904 in St. Louis, the games were tied to that year’s World’s Fair, which celebrated the centennial of the Louisiana Purchase. The Olympics’ signal event, the marathon, was conceived to honor the classical heritage of Greece and underscore the connection between the ancient and modern. But from the start, the 1904 marathon was less showstopper than a sideshow, a freakish spectacle that seemed more in keeping with the carnival atmosphere of the fair than the mood of the games. The outcome was so scandalous that the event was nearly abolished for good. On this podcast, we feature that story and you are not going to believe it. Other Stories Include - The Needle Murder, Grand Theft Astro, Why don’t people believe, Don’t Touch My Batman Bank, My Rose Recorder, The Test Rocket, Johnny Is It True - Facebook Edition, Last Scene Of All, and The Marathon of The 1904 Olympics.
