This week on the podcast we welcome the mighty Norman Cook to Rockonteurs. Norman is a multi-talented artist, producer, and world-famous DJ who started out as a bass player in the Housemartins. In this fascinating conversation with Guy and Gary he discusses how a certain Spandau Ballet were a huge catalyst in his early love of music and how that career evolved from being in a band to becoming the biggest DJ in the world. We dive into the world of DJ’ing, music videos and beach parties! Norman is a Grammy Award, 9 x MTV Video Music Award, Brit, and Tony Award winning artist. He’s also just the biggest music fan, as you’ll hear.

Norman Perry runs one of the most successful music merchandise companies Perryscope and he protects the image and merchandise rights for artists like Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Genesis, Tom Petty, David Bowie, and Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets to name but a few.

Norman has worked with so many of the greatest artists of all time and in this episode, he shares tales of a life behind the scenes working with the great and godlike and how he helps to keep the fan connection alive for so many of our favourite acts.

This brilliant Brian Auger joins Gary and Guy this week for another must listen episode of Rockonteurs.

Brian is a total gent and was there from the earliest days of Rock and Roll as the go to organ and piano guy.

He formed The Steampacket with Long John Baldry, Julie Driscoll, and Rod Stewart in 1965. His influence is felt far and wide in the business and artists like Elton John and Jools Holland cite Brian as a massive influence.

He’s funny, charming, and hugely entertaining and his music is well worth a listen.
