Dr Clifford Mann qualified in 1986 from London University. He undertook postgraduate training in the UK, New Zealand and Australia. He was appointed as a Consultant in Emergency Medicine to Taunton & Somerset Hospital in 1999. He has been Training Programme Director and Head of School for Emergency Medicine in South West England. In 2013 he was elected President of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. In 2015 he was credited by the HSJ as one of the ‘Top 10 Clinical Leaders in the NHS’ and in 2017 as one of the ‘hundred most influential people in health’. In 2016, Clifford was appointed National Clinical Advisor (A&E) at NHS England and in 2017 was appointed GIRFT National Clinical Co-Lead for NHSI. He was awarded an OBE for service to emergency medicine in the 2018 New Year’s Honours List. He continues to work as a full time EM clinician in Taunton.

Neil has been the Clinical Lead for the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit in Yorkhill Children’s Hospital since 2012. Whilst working for the Newborn Emergency Transport Service in Sydney, Australia he developed an interest in PICU and subsequently trained in the specialty in the West of Scotland. After completing a fellowship in Vancouver, British Columbia he returned in 2007 to become a consultant. Neil’s interests include oxygen delivery, cardiac critical care and transport. His other main interest is patient safety and he is a Fellow of the Scottish Patient Safety Programme.
