Ripped From The Headlines

Hello friends! This week Enn recaps a particularly problematic episode (Wedded Bliss; S03 E04 of Law and Order,) that was inspired by the crackdown on illegal 'sweatshops' in the 90s. Matt then talks about the 2021 murder of Jeyasre Kathiravel that exposes the gender and caste based violence and discrimination occurring everyday to Dalit women in the garment industry.

This week's Law and Order Episode (S02 E19) The Fertile Fields had one redeeming quality; Jerry Stiller (Rest In Peace) guest stars! After Enn tells us all about this wild ride of a storyline, Matt explains all of the delicate ins and outs of the Crown Heights Riots of 1991 from which this episode borrowed its plot points.
