You say you're not in it for personal glory. That's good; but what about His glory? If we escape hell "by the skin of our teeth" and arrive in heaven smelling like smoke, that'll be fine, we say. "I don't need any rewards... as long as I can be with Jesus." But you may not feel like that when the faithful are casting their crowns at the feet of the Savior, and you've got nothing. The Kingdom of God isn't organized like one of our corporations. You won't find Jesus as the CEO in that top box of an "org chart." He's the hub, and we are the spokes - each of us reports directly to Him. We might have the notion that other Christians should meet with our approval.
