2012 #4: Andrew O'Neill and Juliet Meyers. After 2 days of nearly lost podcasts can we make it 3 in a row? All seems fine with the desk, but who would believe that workmen in the street would drill through cables and disrupt it all again? Well they did, but luckily Rich had switched on the Tascam as we get an 'interesting' chat with Steam Punk transvestite O'Neill (who manages to be funny sometimes too!). Jack the Ripper, Ian Huntley and the people of Sutton turn out to be comedic topics, as does the generally distracted nature of comedians and sex with Doctor Who monsters. Lots more besides and some great stand-up from Juliet Meyers.

Rich's newfound vanity for expensive footwear means he is in agony as his new boots have rubbed against his feet and he's bleeding into his socks. His guest Shappi Khorsandi is also somewhat crooked by a muscle injury in her leg. And neither of them have had enough sleep and so they're being very indiscrete and talking nonsense. We will find out what people of different nations smell like and which movie star works out in the same park as Shappi, plus reminiscences about the Tempting Tattie and crying into baked potatoes. With a 5 minute set from comedy legend Simon Donald (buy his brilliant book: http://amzn.to/SimonDonaldBook) and the chance to win some waterproof plasters (but only if you came to the actual show). It's still number one in the podcast charts, despite a temporary slip.

Rich has had a proper sleep for the first time in a while - will it make any difference? Probably not. He still confesses to a string of unsolved serious crimes - let's hope the police aren't listening. Don't dob him in man. He has the bright and breezy Francesca Martinez to chat to, who is either one of the best comics in Edinburgh this year or possibly the sickest. She has tales of Grange Hill and offending Laurence Llewelyn Bowen and being wobbly, whilst Rich is looking back on another Fringe fight and hastily trying to write his Radio 4 show about ginger hair by nicking all of his guests best jokes on the subject. Kenneth Kendal survives another day, though Robert Robinson is not so lucky. Keith Allen, it seems, will do anything for a blow job.

Richard has now been talking to comedians for 24 hours - it'll take you a whole day to listen. And there's one more to come. Hopefully our technical gremlins are behind us and after 10 gigs in 2 days Rich had an early night. And though he apparently looks like a tramp he is in good spirits. Made better by the fact that his guest is Isy Suttie, from off of that scene in the stationery cupboard in Peep Show (if you don't know what Peep Show is or what TV is, that all gets explained in the podcast - though we forgot to explain what a podcast is, sorry). You'll find out what happens when you don't put helium in your balloon, how celebrity death can wreck a comedy routine and if a member of Pink Floyd stole Isy's guitar. Top drawer stand-up from Andrew O'Neill. There's only one more to go.

RHEFP 2017 #4: John Robins and Ahir Shah - Suck Each Other Off A Bit. Richard reveals the hypocrisy of his parenting techniques and reminisces about the death of Lady Di. His first guest is Edinburgh Comedy Prize nominee Ahir Shah - they chat about Brexit, how looking into the sun proves your strength and wisdom and the older generations disregard for metaphorical ladders. His second guest is Edinburgh Comedy Prize nominee, Jon Robbins (sorry) John Robins. They talk about break ups, being in relationships with comedians, the way that Edinburgh haunts the long-term Fringe performer, a darker version of The Cobbler and how John loves to go to bed with his mum. Colin gets to quiz both guests and hopefully will be back with his own Edinburgh Fringe podcast next year. By the time you hear this you will probably know who is the winner and who are the losers, but here's the clip that John was talking Dustin Hoffmann Oscar speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhDmNRQgKLM (whizz through the noms if you like). Do check out both these guys shows at the Fringe or on tour. You can buy the Emergency Questions book here - http://www.gofasterstripe.com/EQ. Thanks for joining us at the Fringe in this way. It's been a fun year. And maybe I will come back and do more of these another time. Really delighted to have resurrected it.

RHEFP 2017 #3: Iain Stirling and Jason Manford - The Main Thing Is Ricky Gervais Didn't Win. Rich is mortified about having accidentally crashed someone else's show and is thinking of becoming someone who pays to sit in a hairdressers. But the good news is that Colin is back to remind his guests of times that things have gone wrong for them. Rich's first guest personally knows many of the people that Rich not-so-secretly lusts over at CBeebies - it's Iain Stirling. They chat about working alongside puppets (in their own different ways), how Love Island has turned Iain into a huge Edinburgh smash, the tragedy behind the Amazing Bubble Man and whether somehow Richard might be Iain's dad. Then Richard is joined by the Radio Times Comedy champion and also champion poor time keeper, Jason Manford to chat about the old bamboo, setting up comedy clubs, bizarre coincidences and I think a misunderstanding about what a human centipede involves. RHEFP 2017 #2: James Acaster - Three Nights in Peterborough. Richard is so close to becoming the Radio Times Comedy Champion that he can almost taste it, which will just make his ultimate failure all the more painful and thus amusing, but luckily he almost shat his pants on a children's roundabout. HIs guest went one step further than that, it's the wonderful comedy genius James Acaster. They discuss how hot chocolate is not a flavour, sky diving in slip-ons, the dangers of eating chicken nuggets for a bet, the behind-the-scenes disaster that happened on the Conan show, how a rubbish ghost train was made more scary, shooting Private Pike in the face, crashing cars and the ace sitcom We The Jury. You really must buy James' book for more of these painfully funny stories - https://www.amazon.co.uk/James-Acasters-Classic-Scrapes-Acaster/dp/1472247183 And also you must buy the Emergency Questions book http://www.gofasterstripe.com/eq Also come and see show 3 of this year's RHEFP if you can (with Iain Stirling) https://www.outstandingtickets.com/show/262/richard_herrings_edinburgh_fringe_podcast (and we're looking into the possibility of doing another show in the last week too).

RHEFP 2017 #1: The Doug Anthony All Stars - The Boy Who Cried Batman. The King has returned and he's at the spooky New Theatre Grand Hall where the Masons get up to all sorts of mysterious time-travelling. And Richard is very excited to be welcoming comedy legends the Doug Anthony All Stars, Paul, Tim and Paul. There's lots of chat about the Edinburgh Fringe of the eighties, the point where comedy and tragedy meet, what happens when you become the carer for your comedy partner, what happens if you never wash your clothes, the Doug who became a diplomat, how Jerry Sadowitz terrorised the public, and curing rectal cancer. Sorry the first minute or so got lost, but I have attempted to recreate it (and it was nothing of any worth). Plus there's a beautiful song at the end which is going to leave you wondering why the audience is laughing, but suffice to say what was happening was very funny indeed. RHEFP 2013 #23: Caroline Rhea, Barry from Watford and Alex Edelman - Going Down On Colin. Richard is waiting for the Perrier people to turn up with his Spirit of the Fringe award, but the only person winning anything today is Colin, who in his last appearance is festooned with gifts. Though some of them will be stolen by first guest Caroline Rhea (pronounced Ray, apparently) who is on hand to talk about animatronic cats, swearing Scottish children and Larry David's inability to tell a knock, knock joke. And does she walk off the podcast? Or is she just going to catch her cab? You decide. Fellow American Alex Edelman provides the stand-up, before true blue Brit, Barry from Watford, comes on to talk about his wife, pies, Steve Wright, Iain Lee and Nicholas Parsons. It's getting a little raggedy round the edges, but the end is in sight now. Will the next two be the last ever RHEFPs?

2012 #16: Weasel Prophylactic - Nick Helm and Jay Foreman. Rich is husky and ill and worrying about the parallels between his life and the fate of Rodney Bewes and trying to live his life vicariously through the life of his audience by fixing up random people based on what they've got in their hair. Colin is back on the front row, which freaks out Nick Helm as he was recently on the front row of his audience too, but he manages to recover his wits to talk about Winchester college, eating found Chinese takeaway, as well as being forced to field all the regular questions from the various podcasts. Rich further examines his Krankies tribute act (no news on if Susan Calman is up for it) and gets cross about the Independent slightly making stuff up about him. With music from Jay Foreman.
