EPISODE OVERVIEW:
Can you imagine a world without disease? A world where people suffering with medical death sentences and plagues are cured in a matter of weeks? It would be wonderful, right? Well, we may not be too far away from that world according to today's guest. Teaching computer classes at MIT at the age of 15, working in the tech industry for the first half of his career, and then moving into gene and cell therapy, Jeff Galvin and his team at American Gene Technologies (AGT) are leading the way in showing us how these two industries mirror one another, and finding the cure to what ails the world isn't far away. Check out this episode of the Remarkable People Podcast now and hear Jeff Galvin's Remarkable story of technology and hope!

Following his startup experience, he retired to become an Angel Investor in real estate and high tech. He came out of retirement to found and fund AGT after meeting Dr. Roscoe Brady at NIH.
FEATURED QUOTE(S):
- “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.“ – Edmund Burke
- "We can now edit the "software" of the human cell (our DNA). Today 100's of companies are reprogramming human viruses to deliver updates to the human-computer. Today this technology is being used to cure incurable diseases, but the capabilities are doubling every year while the cost halves. In that environment, anything is possible; if you can dream it you can do it." - Jeff Galvin

GUEST BIO:
Church planter among the Tsongas of South Africa, married to Amy, father of five, truly genuine friend- meet Seth Meyers!
"We have lived in South Africa since 2004, about an hour from Zimbabwe planting churches among Tsongas, Vendas, and the occasional Shona. As to my personality, I am a reluctant child of my times fighting against the near omnipresent hastiness contemporary society and personal proclivity have bestowed on me. But I’m helped in my journey by an outstanding companion who homeschools our four children as well as serves the church. Theologically, I am a confessional Baptist who likes evangelism, churchplanting, premillennialism, Abraham Kuyper, and of course, William Carey." - Seth Meyers
