Relationships. You Understand?
04/16/24 • 31 min
Welcome back to our brand new series “Being the Breadwinner!”. In part 2 of this series, we’ll be addressing some relationship problems that can come up when you become the breadwinner of your family. This week, we’re going to talk about how to support your partner’s dreams.
As their partner, you don’t need to understand their dream. You just need to be there for them. Being there for them is the most important thing because it will allow them to feel safe with you.
When your partner allows you into their dream and you show up for them without needing to fix anything or criticize anything, they will feel safe with you. And in turn, you will be able to have more discernment about their dreams and they will feel more supported and pushed to achieve it.
Check out this week's episode to hear more about how you can support your partner’s dream and how I help my clients find themselves again when they’re feeling lost in their partner’s dream.

91. Being the Breadwinner Series Pt 3 How to Manage Stress, Energy, and Mindset During This Transition
Relationships. You Understand?
04/23/24 • 34 min
Welcome back to our new series “Being the Breadwinner!” In part three of this series, we’re addressing some relationship problems that come up when you become the breadwinner of your family. This week, we talk about how to manage stress, energy, and mindset during this transition.
In this episode, I highlighted all the factors that depleted my energy when I became the breadwinner. My sister was diagnosed with cancer, my new position was incredibly demanding, and I even off-boarded all of my clients to focus on my new job and my family. Looking back now, my husband and I made conscious decisions within our relationship to make sure that I didn’t burn out. We made sure that I could still be there for my family, for my career, and for my marriage by identifying where I needed support in this new chapter of our lives.
Check out this week's episode to hear more about how getting support helped me manage my stress and energy during this time, and how I help my clients identify the support they need from their partners.

86. Spring Clean Your Relationship Pt 2: Do Our Values Still Align?
Relationships. You Understand?
03/19/24 • 23 min
Welcome to Part 2 of our newest series, Spring Cleaning Your Relationship! This week, we are asking our partners the question: Do our values still align? Figuring out if your values are aligned will help you figure out if this is the person you want to continue to do life with. Because your values and your partner's values are the way that you both navigate the world and make daily decisions. It impacts the way that you talk to each other, how you act, and how you feel towards each other.
Your values are the foundation of the type of person that you are. And, I want you to have this conversation while keeping five specific values in mind. These values are:
- Faith
- Family and Friends
- Money
- Your Careers
- Your Hobbies
These values are so important to talk about because we don’t start the relationship thinking about these values. We talk about how attracted we are to each other or how good of a time we're having right now and how amazing the conversations are. These conversations are fun but they’re really not getting into the values you need to think about when deciding whether or not you want to spend the rest of your life with this person.
Check out this week's episode to hear how talking about these values can improve the future of your relationship and how I help my clients work through the difficult answers that can come up during these conversations.

85. Spring Clean Your Relationship Pt. 1: Am I Still The One?
Relationships. You Understand?
03/12/24 • 31 min
This week, we are kicking off a brand new series called Spring Cleaning Your Relationship! This is a four-part series that you can use to check in with your partner, strengthen your relationship, and make sure you’re still a team.
Part One of this new series will focus on one question: Am I still the one? Notice how we’re not asking, “Do you still love me?” And that’s because the answer to that question is not enough. You can love someone and not want to do life with them anymore. This is why we’re checking in with our partners and creating a safe space to hear their answers.
Check out this week's episode to hear how having these heavy conversations improved my marriage and how I help my clients create a safe space within their relationships to have these conversations.

84. Top 3 Things I Learned About Marriage
Relationships. You Understand?
03/05/24 • 24 min
In this week’s episode, we’re discussing the top three things I learned about marriage.
Marriage is a lot of work, but it’s not hard if you’re paying attention to your partner. Your partner is the love of your life, but they’re also their own person. They have their own wants and needs, their own hobbies you won’t understand, and their own way of needing space. And a marriage works best when you can understand these lessons and respect them.
Over the years, I’ve learned how to respect our differences and respect our roles in the relationship. The top three things I learned about marriage are:
- I’m not always right
- Support doesn't mean they have to understand what you're doing
- Space looks completely different for everybody
Check out this week's episode to learn more about these lessons and how I use them to help my clients do the work and create a more compassionate marriage.

83. Top 3 Signs You Are Falling Out of Love with Your Partner
Relationships. You Understand?
02/27/24 • 30 min
In this week’s episode, we’re discussing the top three signs you are falling out of love with your partner.
There is a difference between being “in love” and having “love” for your partner. When you have love for your partner you respect them and have care and compassion for them. However, being “in love” requires you to consciously decide to be with this person and share the rest of your life.
Falling “out of love” with our partners can be very scary because it clashes with the big decision of doing life with them. Listen as I walk you through the top 3 signs of falling “out of love” with your partner and how I guide my clients through the problems that can arise during this time and towards a more loving relationship.

81. How to Be Ok When Your Partner is Not Ok
Relationships. You Understand?
02/13/24 • 25 min
In this week’s episode, we talk about how to be ok when your partner is not ok.
It can be incredibly stressful to know that your partner is having a hard time. But it’s also important to remember that your partner is not a problem to be solved. You don’t have to “fix” them every time your partner has an issue.
Many of my clients have a hard time letting go of the fixer role and giving their partners the space to solve their own problems. That’s why in this week's episode, I’m going to share with you how I would guide my clients during this stressful time.
