We discuss the "Payola" (Pay for Play) scandal of the 1950's and the impact it had on the Music business and the fall out for some of the most famous Disc Jockeys of that time as well as the influence that organized crime had on the music business.
Later we talk about the great TV show "American Bandstand" hosted by Dick Clark and how much impact that had on our learning of the music and the great dances like the Twist, Mash Potato and many others.
And we finish the Pod talking about the advent of Color TV and the joy we had as kids going to "Saturday Movie Matinee's" and the fun that only us kids could have in the theater back in the day.
