Girl Pow-R is an all-girl pop rock band. The group consists of very talented young girls (ages 11 to 17) who create & sing original music, cover songs, play instruments, as well as dance! Their amazing vocals and energetic performances earned Girl Pow-R the following opportunities since their inception.JUNO-NOMINATED!! Girl Pow-R has been nominated for the JUNOs (like the Grammy’s) for ‘Album of the Year’ in the Children's category. And, that's really exciting because it's history-making. We are so excited to be part of the first-ever group of young people, or children, to be nominated for a Juno award in the Children's Category for Album of the Year. It is a history-making moment!Girl Pow-R’s sound is rooted in Pop-Rock, with the goal of inspiring others to be their best, through their music and lyrics. IIn addition to a passion for music, each girl in the group also has a social cause that they represent like advocating for better education for girls all around the world, youth homelessness, give peace a chance, mental health support and awareness, or all of us taking better care of our health through the foods that we eat.Girl Pow-R’s sound is rooted in Pop-Rock, with the goal of inspiring others to be their best, through their music and lyrics. Too often, young people are influenced by the thoughts and life experiences of singers and musicians who are in their late teens and their 20’s. It's time to give young people an alternative to these messages. In addition to a passion for music, each girl in the group also has a social cause that they represent like advocating for better education for girls all around the world, youth homelessness, give peace a chance, mental health support and awareness, or all of us taking better care of our health through the foods that we eat.Girl Pow-R was symbolically formed on International Women’s Day in 2017

If you see something about to happen, get it. Put the camera up and click. Two seconds later you won't have the chance again. You have to look for those stolen moments.Harold Sherrick is a career photographer, capturing musicians and concerts for almost 40 years. He has photographed everyone from Neil Young to Robert Smith, Dave Grohl to Joe Walsh, Tom Petty to Tori Amos. In Stolen Moments, Sherrick has included some of his most iconic photos, including rare images from his extensive body of work.Captured in “Stolen Moments,” among many others, are images of (in no particular order) Neil Young, Mick Jagger, Sting, Bono, Cheryl Crow, Quincy Jones, David Bowie, Tori Amos, June Carter Cash, John Entwistle, Joni Mitchell, Richie Havens, Iggy Pop, AC/DC, The Ramones, Iggy Pop, Joss Stone, The Bee Gees, Joe Walsh, Ringo Starr, Dave Grohl, Ray Charles, John Fogerty, Stevie Wonder, Willie Nelson, Chrissie Hynde, Pete Townshend and, on the cover, Tom Petty. Many of the images are candids, hence the title, but Sherrick also included lots of portraits. This will be a fun show , please tune in as Harold has so many amazing stories of behind the pictures including his candid images with Broadcast news legend Walter Cronkite. Harold jokes he was raised in a News Room with His father, Herb Sherrick, a newspaperman who worked for the L.A. Herald-Examiner, referring to the city’s afternoon newspaper, the nation’s largest at the time (the paper folded in November 1989). Harold also recalls a time Bowling with Phil Spector. He started shooting for Phil in ’93, and the first big gig was at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame ceremony in L.A. Phil came with the guys, and that was the first time I really had taken a bunch of different shots of him. Then I was just basically employed by him .

Roger Dean was born in Ashford Kent, England in 1944. He is internationally renowned for his unique style of album cover paintings, logos, typefaces, and organic architectural designs. The album covers of bands such as, Yes and Asia became windows into Dean’s world. The covers portrayed richly coloured landscapes where continuously cascading waterfalls and pools flow upon floating islands, are recurring themes. The Yes logo became the visual signature of the group and was recognisable, not only from Yes’s record covers, but it was also imitated in style, in graffiti across the world. The first painting Dean produced for Yes became the cover for their Fragile album and marked the beginning of a forty seven year association between Roger Dean and Yes. Some have regarded the collaboration between Yes and Dean as his most successful however, Dean is continuing to create paintings for bands such as Asia, and more recently for Steve Hacketts, album Premonitions. It has been estimated that over a hundred million people have, at one time, owned a piece of Dean’s art, either as an album cover, or as one of the many posters that were made of his cover paintings. http://www.rogerdean.com/
