Your favorite film majors are back for season two! Oh, and Jake. He's here too. Join us as we kick off our next adventure with Invasion of the Body Snatchers!
Originally released in...well, technically it was 1958, but in the interest of transparency (and time), we started with Philip Kaufman's 1978 version featuring a cloud of space embryos and some unassuming flowers who decided they were going to conquer earth one emotionless clone at a time.
Remade (again) in 2007, Invasion ditches the hostile flora in favor of an alien disease that worms its way into people's brains, taking over their bodies while they sleep. Neither situation is what you'd call ideal, but at least this time around there's hope for a cure.

Rebooted - Jurassic Park

Send us a question!

In this episode, Jimmy Buffet rescues a couple margaritas. Literally nothing else happens.
Originally released in 1993, Jurrasic Park explores what would happen if a mad scientist devoted his time to resurrecting the dinosaurs.
Spoiler alert: bad things happen.
20 some years later, science...uh...finds a way to not only make more dinosaurs, but also genetically engineer smarter ones. What could possibly go wrong?
Everything. Everything goes wrong.
Honestly, it's utterly shocking that the folks smart enough to bring dinosaurs back from extinction were also somehow too stupid to stop and think "You know, this is a really bad idea."
I suppose the only thing left to do is throw in a couple kids to raise the stakes.

Send us a question!

In this episode, we're hitching a ride on a prison bus to spend the night at a defunct police precinct scheduled to be shut down for good.
Things take a dark turn when a mob of criminals (and a few corrupt cops) crash the party intent on killing everyone inside.
It's a high stakes showdown chock-full of unnecessary violence, workplace harassment disguised as sexual tension, and some weird blood pact that no one really understands.
Outnumbered and outgunned, the officers (and prisoners) must work together to fend off the relentless attack and survive the night in John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13.

What's a threeboot? We're not sure, but it's 2 hours long and has more side tracks than a Bethesda RPG.
In this episode, we learn that it's perfectly acceptable to be bat $#@! crazy as long as you help catch a serial killer. And root out police corruption. And pick fights with mobsters. And sort of thwart a cat burglar (maybe?).
We're checking in with the World's Greatest Detective to see what's new in Gotham City since Warner Bros replaced Batfleck, and hoo boy...there is a lot to take in.
That's right, ladies and gents. It's a Batman episode!
Join us as we embark on a harrowing journey to keep Mike's ADHD fueled fangasm in check and string together even a shred of coherent conversation about the only superhero franchise to be rebooted more times than Spider-Man.

In this episode, Ikea tries to assassinate Bruce Campbell, and some genius thinks its a good idea to open a book made of human flesh that he found in a murder basement. What could possibly go wrong?
Oh. That's right. Literally everything.
Grab your boomstick, and join us as we dive into the campy, blood-soaked perfection of Sam Raimi's horror classic: The Evil Dead.

Who you gonna call?
Nearly 40 years after the Ghostbusters saved New York, Egon Spengler's granddaughter discovers a hidden bunker beneath an old farm house and teams up with his awkwardly mute ghost to save the world.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a "requel" that is bursting with nostalgia while also putting a new, and (slightly) more intense spin on the franchise drawing inspiration (and cast members) from shows like Stranger Things.
With Paul Rudd acting as an anchor to the campy humor of the original, and a complete lack of references to 2016's flop of a reboot, Afterlife is the Ghostbusters revival you've been waiting for.

WOLVERINES!!
In this episode, we try not to piss off foreign markets with the classic "what if" film: Red Dawn.
Originally released in 1984 and remade in 2012, Red Dawn tells the story of a rag-tag group of high school students who drink deer's blood and get weirdly good at guerilla warfare.
Featuring a slew of MCU cameos and that one dude from The Hunger Games who was named after a flatbread, this action packed romp proves that it only takes a montage to turn students into soldiers.

Rebooted - Dune

Send us a question!

The spice must flow! (But no one said anything about the plot)
Released in 1984, David Lynch's adapdation of Frank Herbert's Dune was railed by Roger Ebert as an "ugly, unstructured, pointless excursion." The film received a nearly unanimous thumbs down from every notable critic at the time, and seemingly for good rereason.
Nearly 40 years later, Denis Villeneuve tried again and split what may be the slowest sci-fi movie of all time into two parts.
It was a ballsy move that seems to have paid off as the 2021 reboot was met with largely positive reviews from fans and critics alike while following (almost verbatim) every major beat of Lynch's original flop.
We'll need to wait until 2023 to see the conclusion of Villeneuve's vision, but we may finally have the adaptation that Herbert's novel deserves.

Send us a question!

Is the new Garfield movie reboot worth your time, or just another nostalgia cash-in? Join us as we dissect the new characters Vic and Jinx, speculate on Garfield's father-son subplot, and debate whether Jinx might be more than she seems. We'll also voice our disappointment with the lack of adult humor and ponder the tropes and pitfalls common to children's movies.
How does Chris Pratt stack up against Garfield's iconic lazy persona? Our discussion heats up as we argue whether Nick Offerman would have been a better fit for the voice role. From the buddy dynamic of Garfield and Odie’s original film to the father-son reunion theme of the reboot, we evaluate which plot resonates more and share our mixed feelings about watching the movie with kids. Plus, we reminisce about the charm of actors like Hannah Waddington and Brett Goldstein, and critique the quality of the CGI rendering.
Lastly, we take a nostalgic journey through Garfield's rich history, from plush toys and comic strips to Sunday comics and the 1988 TV series. We touch on fascinating trivia, like the Easter egg of Garfield's comic strip debut date, and chuckle over the peculiar 90s trend of cartoon characters on car windows. As we wrap up, we share our excitement for a slew of upcoming movies and shows, including the much-anticipated Deadpool 4, Dog Man, and the Atlas series on Netflix. Don’t miss out on our lively debate and hearty laughs in this episode!
