This week Nick and Randy grab their pipe and funny looking hat and travel back to Victorian London to solve crimes with Holmes and Watson. This episode covers a few of the original Sherlock Holmes stories (A Study in Scarlet) by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle that inspired the 2009 adaptation of Sherlock Holmes by Guy Ritchie Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams.
To start the episode Nick and Randy cover their history with the character of Sherlock and the inspiration that has brought to the modern day True Crime phenomena. They then delve into their thoughts on the Sherlock Holmes stories and their experience reading A Study in Scarlet. After discussing the origins of the adaptation by Guy Ritchie they get into the meat and potatoes of the book to movie adaptation with their Keys of the Adaptation scoring this movie on casting, plot, world-building, soundtrack, and legacy.
