Episode Three - Scorpion
Random Telly vision
03/01/20 • 42 min
This week on Random Telly Vision we’re watching Scorpion! You may be surprised to hear that this isn’t actually a fascinating documentary series about the curly (and yet somehow spiky) tailed venomous creepy crawlies. It’s actually an action drama series about a group of genius scientists that ran between 2014 and 2018.
Clearly, we’re a little late to the party, and in this analogy we’ve rocked up in the middle, with a half drunk bottle of wine, and left again half an hour later!
We hope you enjoy our conversations about Scorpion, Series 3, episode 21
Episode Two - Spartacus
Random Telly vision
02/01/20 • 50 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we're watching Spartacus! Never heard of it? Us neither! It popped up on Netflix when we were trawling for programmes. Get ready for some wildly uninformed historical facts, possibly from the programme, definitely from us!
FYI, if you're like Jenny and not so good with blood on screen, you may want to go ahead and give the actual episode a miss. Not us mind! Maybe just see how much of our nattering you can understand out of context.
We hope you enjoy our confused conversation about Spartacus, series 3, episode 7.
01/03/20 - Shame Space alert!!!
We’ve just discovered that this episode, and in fact the whole programme has disappeared from Netflix UK. It is still available on Apple TV and Starzplay, but it’s no longer on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
Apologies if you have Netflix or Amazon and wanted to watch along with us.
We try to pick series that are easily found online, but they do sometimes move around. We’ll try to keep more up to date with this in the future.
Episode Thirty - Supernatural
Random Telly vision
09/21/20 • 47 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching Supernatural!
We follow the story of a Superhero who has magical breasts. They have a mind of their own and she ends up giving up her powers in order to have a breast reduction so she can feel 'natural' again!
We are, of course, pulling your proverbial leg. This is actually the long running TV show about two demon hunting brothers. The show ran between 2005-2020, and we somehow missed all of it!
We hope you enjoy our confused conversations about Supernatural, series 7, episode 11.
Episode Twenty Seven - Damages
Random Telly vision
08/31/20 • 54 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching Damages!
We’ve all heard the phrase “like a bull in a china shop”, well this showcases the aftermath of this exact situation. Highly skilled competitive jigsaw puzzle solvers are brought in to work, in a similar manner to forensic detectives at a crime scene. Vases you saw shattered into a million pieces moments before are expertly and efficiently reordered and restored to their original beautiful forms.
We are of course making it up again. This is really the tv show starring Glenn Close and Rose Byrne about a hot shot New York lawyer and her protege.
We hope you enjoy our confused conversations about The Sopranos, series 2, episode 11.
Episode Twenty Five - Extra - Shame Space - The Sopranos
Random Telly vision
08/23/20 • 17 min
Welcome to our weekly shame space! Our moment to address all the stupid things we said in our previous episode.
We hope you enjoy our corrections and explanations for The Sopranos.
Episode Twenty Four - The Comeback
Random Telly vision
08/10/20 • 59 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching The Comeback!
That’s right, the show all about witty comebacks and put downs. The show uses hidden microphones to record people mid argument and capture their best ripostes. This does mean that there is a fair amount of uncomfortable viewing time, but it is more than compensated by the hilarity of the comebacks.
We’re talking nonsense of course. This is actually the tv show starring Lisa Kudrow as a washed up actress trying to revive her own career.
We hope you enjoy our confused conversations about The Comeback, series 2, episode 2.
Episode Twenty Three - The Night Shift
Random Telly vision
08/03/20 • 55 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching The Night Shift.
Wildly popular with children and adults alike, the night shift follows the lives of nocturnal animals in cartoon form. Oliver the owl, Finnegan the fox, and Hannah the hedgehog teach us how they see, manoeuvre and hunt in the dark. It’s surprisingly graphic for an educational cartoon, but somehow retains its childlike innocence.
Of course it’s not. This is actually the tv series set during the night shift of a hospital that ran between 2014-2017.
We hope you enjoy our confused conversations about The Night Shift, series 3, episode 10.
Episode Twenty One - Delicious
Random Telly vision
07/20/20 • 52 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching Delicious!
Delicious tells the compelling yet tragic story of the fictitious cannibal who discovered that his own body was unbelievably tasty. Inspired by Van Gogh, his slow descent into food based madness started with a nibble of an ear. The show charts his journey from discovery of his own tastiness, through his struggle to not consume himself, to his eventual demise in an accidental chip pan fire attempting to deep fry his last remaining finger.
Absolute nonsense of course. This is obviously the tv show staring Dawn French and Emilia Fox that ran from 2016 - 2019.
We hope you enjoy our confused conversations about Delicious, series 2, episode 4.
Episode Twenty - Penny Dreadful
Random Telly vision
07/13/20 • 62 min
This week on Random Telly Vision, we’re watching Penny Dreadful.
A much loved, but often overlooked, satirical look at the life of misshapen coins from the royal mint. Centred around the eponymous protagonist (a rather dreadfully shaped penny) it follows her journey alongside the equally misshapen shilling and guinea.
We’re pulling your proverbial leg of course. This is in fact the tv series in part based on characters from gothic novels that ran from 2014-2016
We hope you enjoy our confused ramblings for series 2, episode 9 of Penny Dreadful.
Episode Four - Free Rein
Random Telly vision
03/23/20 • 40 min
This week on Random Telly Vision we’re watching Free Rein! You may think that it sounds like a misspelled show about a recently abdicated monarch. You would be wrong. Unfortunately for you, it’s much less interesting than that. It’s not a typo, it is in fact a terrible pun which hints toward the subject animal of this show. Which is of course...
Horses! Sorry to spoil it for you, but Free Rein is about horses. Neither of us have any particular experience of horses, so expect some wildly exaggerated ideas of how they behave.
We hope you enjoy our rambling conversation about Free Rein, series 3, episode 1.
